Lovely, Horses Very Happy!

The centre is now under new ownership, I have moved my horse there and he is very happy. Lovely guy who has the place, very helpful and friendly. You can choose from Full livery, Part and DIY all very reasonable. The place is currently being cleaned up but is very professional and tidy. Lovely facilities.

Access to the mountain is literally three minutes away and all off road, you can hack out for hours and have amazing views. Since moving my horse has a new lease of life and has bonded well with the horses that are at the yard. The facilities there and the price I pay is excellent value. Would recommend to anyone!

Under New Management

Hi All

Just to let you know that South Wales Equestrian Centre is now under new management. The guy who has bought it is really nice and a great horseman. he will be running it as a livery yard with full and part liveries also available.

he is cleaning the place up and making it good again.

Regular training events will start to run from there is September 2013

Worst Place Ever!

This is the worse place ever to keep a horse at livery! I kept my horse there for a short time the owner was abusive and constantly in a rage, I witnessed cruelty to her horses and even the farm cats that live there. She was rude to many of the customers who had lessons there and visitors eg farriers and delivery drivers. She has no love of horses at all and struts around constantly shouting and throwing things at them, she has serious anger management problems. Such a shame as this could be a lovely place under different ownership. No matter how desperate you are do not put your horse there for livery she is a complete physco!

Not Impressed!:(

I went there ages ago when a lady was there, it was my first ever horse riding lessons and she made me cry! She had me to trot on my first day! I wouldn't recommend her! I have had a bad horse experience now, and I want to have my own horse and riding lessons as I'm not put off easily! Is it better there now?

Horse Bolted On My First Lesson

Went there over 3 years ago to start riding lessons, was advised the school by some riding friends who learnt to ride there. I know horses are unpredictable animals but I thought it was awful that the horse bolted with me on my first ever proper time on a horse, beginner horses should be bombproof and fairly safe 99% of the time. I also thought it was awful that parents had to lead the ones wanting to be lead around, this wasn't good for me as sometimes my dad wasn't around (he's not over experienced) but my mam is frightened of horses.

I quit after my second riding lesson there as I was unhappy about the horses, my parents having to lead me and the way they was about me not liking leg ups (they used to get awful moody about me not being able to get on with a leg up and having to use a mounting block)

I succesfully went to EKM Equestrian Center after that and had some brilliant lessons.

Excellent Service, Enjoyable

The riding school recently did a taster day which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed, I found the staff helpful and seemed to have excellent knowlodge of horses and how to introduce newcomers to riding.

Made Very Welcome Fab

Took my nephew for 1st lesson this morning. Already booked up for next week. He was made very welcome and had an hours lesson which flew by. His face at the end said it all. The lady who was teaching him made him feel confident and he enjoyed the whole experience as did I watching. Thanks Beth and Rhys

Swec Has New Owners

Apparently the owner finally sold the centre to a couple who are putting all their blood, tears and sweat to make the place a hell of a lot better than what she let it become. I don't know exactly how long ago it was bought from her, but now it is under new management Id give the place another try. Ive heard the new couple are extremely kind and want every bit of detail and help to make the place better and change the reputation it has. Go to the centre and try it out again. I agree she was awful at managing the place. Her father kept dishing out money to her as she couldnt afford to run the place due to hardly anyone going up there because of her attitude. plus once she was removed from the BHS membership it went downhill very quickly from there. So go give the place a try; Ive heard they're refurbishing the cafe, the viewing/seating area of the school, refurbishing the office and Ive even heard they're re-doing all the stables and completly starting fresh with the x-country course.

And also he bought all of the school horses to start it back up but never as I was going to buy one of the school horses as I had a really good bond with him I miss all of the school horses so much I loved them all. Also people are slagging the school of and I made so much progress in two and a half years I started there only her how to walk on a horse and left show jumping on horses so can u please stop slagging her off please as I am very close to her I treat her as my auntie

Horsesarebae

Just to say when I met the new owners they were extreamly horrible as he sat there and watched us have a lesson and did not even speak to any of the parents and he told (name removed) that he was going to restart the riding school but never so I would never trust him as he his full of lies
