I Have 1 House Cat That Turns Into A Savage When I
I have 1 house cat that turns into a savage when it comes to tablets, he now just eats the wormer with his dinner. I also have 4 feral barn cats that I like to worm as best I can so finding a wormer that was readily eaten meant i was fairly sure they all got wormed - previous granules were left untouched even after shutting them in for several days. Catching them is not an option!

After Reading The Other Reviews I Have To Agree -
After reading the other reviews I have to agree - these are the easiest cat wormers I have ever come across, in 20 years of owning cats!
I currently have 3 cats; Smudge who is the eldest at 12 years and the biggest, he weighs over a stone and a quarter, but the vet says there's not an ounce of fat on him, he's just HUGE (we have a dog-flap, he got stuck in the cat-flap when he was a year old!!), Dusty, who is 9 and really fussy -won't even eat Webox treats or Felix sticks or real chicken meat(!!) and Lawson is the baby at 2 years old.
I found Panacur Favourites about 2 years ago. They were very reasonably priced and looked like the answer to my prayers - after years or wrestling with a seething ball of teeth and claws everytime I needed to worm one of my little darlings, to give them worming treatment in a "treat" seemed like heaven. I must admit I was a little dubious, but ordered them anyway. It was the best thing I ever did! They actually DID view them as treats. (well, except Dusty, who sniffed it, looked at me with the "what the hell's this?" expression he does so well, then walked off - so I broke it up and stuck it in his dinner, then had to stand over him while he ate it, more to fend off Smudge who is always looking for seconds!) Both Lawson and Smudge ate them right out of my hand, and sniffed for more.
I ordered more the next day! Luckily I had ordered an ample supply to do me for the next few years, but I have just (literally) used the last ones and can't seem to find any more, on any website. All I can find is something that comes in syringes (because THAT's going to be easy to administer-NOT!!) or granules (and they'll all be eating each other's food again) or some wierd paste stuff (and just WHAT am I supposed to do with that!?!?)
Looks like it's back to the seething ball of teeth and claws I mentioned before! :o(
Does anyone know WHY these have been discontinued (when the dog ones are still made)?

My Cat Is A Very Fussy Eater - She Will Only Eat A
My cat is a very fussy eater - she will only eat Asda's complete dry food and human-grade tuna flakes. In the past I have had a nightmare trying to worm her. I have always used Johnson's Twin Wormer tablets (the pink and fawn ones) on my cat, which are very effective, but I dreaded the actual administration. My cat would clamp her mouth shut and I'd have to pry it open, all the time while she's squirming and wriggling - I didn't have enough hands to keep her still. Then to actually put the tablet in her mouth and try to get her to swallow it was almost impossible. I'd have to hold her muzzle shut, tilt her head up and stroke her throat for a good minute or two (whilst trying to stop her from running off), just to eventually let go and see her spit it back out and have to begin it all over again.
I felt this ordeal was not fair on my cat or myself. She's such a chatty, placid and affectionate little girl who has never bitten or scratched any of my family. I had to find another way.
So I scoured the local pet shops, but I couldn't find anything else different, and I was not going to pay atrocious over-inflated vet prices. Then I did a search on Google and came up with the Panacur Favourites for Cats, which seemed the perfect solution to all our worming problems, as all the bumph said that cats couldn't resist the taste and would happily eat the tablet with no fuss. So I ordered a packet of 2 tablets from an online vet store for only £3.90 with free delivery.
They come in an informative box and foil strip, so it's easy to pop the tablet out and give it the cat...but my cat flatly refused to eat the tablet! She just looked at it, had a sniff and then turned her nose up in disgust, and went back to eating her dry food!
I had to resort to crumbling the tablet up and mixing it into her favourite food - tuna flakes in spring water, and even then instead of wolfing her dinner down within two minutes like normal, she took her 20 minutes to pick her way through, trying to avoid the wormer bits...and leaving a few. I think next time I'll try the Panacur Granules.
To conclude, the Panacur Favourites for Cats are a great idea, but will not suit every cat. I recommend that if you have a cat who will eat just about anything, these wormers will work a treat; but if your cat is rather fussy, like my little madam (a tortoiseshell and white none-the-less!), I would either expect to have to mix the tablet in food or stick to granules.

As A Cat Breeder - I Hate It When It's Time For Wo
As a cat breeder - I HATE it when it's time for worming...all those tablets, scratches & blood. Not any more, I've just discovered Panacur Treats. Whilst buying my usual Panacur, my vet nurse gave me a pack of Treats & said try these. I just laughed and said there is NO Way a cat is going to fall for those so she gave me the pack without charge. I have 4 newly wormed cats tonight within the space of 5 minutes....they loved them. I won't be using anything else from now on.

I've Always Had Problems Getting Wormer Down My Ca
I've always had problems getting wormer down my cats, they know when there's anything there shouldn't be in their food, and I hate trying to put a tablet down their throat!
Panacure Favourite treats are the best wormer ever, my cats love them, worming them has never been easier. It gets a well worth 10/10 from me and my two cats!

Panacur Favourites For Cats Worming Cat
Panacur Favourites for Cats
Worming cats is NOT the easiest of jobs - especially if you have LARGE cats. In recent years I have chosen to take the easier option and use granules which are mixed with the food however this can cause a few problems when, like me, you have multiple cats as one may ignore the food and another may help himself to several portions.
When I noticed that there was a new option on the market I was naturally very interested especially as it was Panacur which I have been favouring for years anyway. In fact, they are called Panacur Favourites for Cats and, having had very good results from using Favourites for Dogs, I was anxious to treat the cats the same way.
Each pack contains two tablets - each being about an inch long by about half an inch across. These are marked so that they can be easily broken for accurate dosage which is half a tablet for each 2.5 kilos of bodyweight. This can be added to feed or given after feeding. Each tablet contains 500mg Fenbendazole Ph.Eur and they are for the treatment and prevention of gastro intestinal nematodes such as Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma spp.
The tablets are 'bubble' wrapped and the foil backing has to be peeled away rather than split - as I found after failing to get into it the first time. Once in - which is easy when tackled the right way - the tablets, which are brown in colour, are very easily removed. They are quite soft which is useful as they need to be broken for dosage. They would also be easy to crumble should you need to add them to food. They smell very similar to a stock cube - I decided that I would draw the line at tasting this time! Apparently they are supposed to be fish flavoured.
My largest cat, Casey, is also the most difficult to treat. He weighs seven and a half kilos and is NOT fat. He is a BIG cat - and it's mostly muscle. Consequently he is very strong. He also does tend to object to being picked up or restrained. Luckily he is a big softie so there is no attempt at scratching or biting - but he is extremely difficult to hold let alone dose with pills or potions. Weighing as much as he does, his dose is three halves of tablets - each about half an inch square. How would he react? Simple - I handed them to him and he ate them - and looked for more! No problem at all. I think I should qualify that statement - there is one problem - having six cats I have to dose them all separately otherwise, as they consider Favourites to be treats, they try to outdo each other on who can get most.
Panacur Favourites are not available from supermarkets but only from specialist outlets, vets, etc. I bought mine on-line from Vetmedic Online Pharmacy for Animals (http://www.vet-medic.com) and they cost £3.82 for a box of two tablets. Five pence from the sale of each pack is donated to each of Paignton Zoo and the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB).
Would I recommend this product? Yes, definitely - it's a far less traumatic procedure than the usual form of worming cats - for both animal and owner. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it was a most enjoyable experience for both.
I hope that this will be of help to you - and I thank you for reading.
