Reaction To Frontline

We wondered why our cat kept getting sore areas on his back and flanks, then it dawned on is that these outbreaks closely followed the applications of frontline. The lesions resembled chemical burns. Since stopping frontline, these problems have ceased. Has anyone else experienced this?

Frontline Does Not Work

I used Frontline when it first came onto the market, it was fantastic up to last year, then it stopped working, I breed Birman cats they are semi-long haired, and I never had a flea on them with Frontline spray, I bought the largest spray that you made and it would last me for 2 years now it dosent last 6 months, and does not work, I use spot on for my 14 year old Birman Melody who is allergic to fleas, she ended up being treated by my vet for her flea allergy, did her with spot on 2 weeks ago, she has fleas again and will have to go to my vet yet again to be treated for the allegy, all this is costing me a fortune, I can tell you I am disgusted, and I am not the only breeder with problems, also I run a boardidng cattery have cats coming in having been treated with spot on and they are all complaining, I think it should be taken off the market as its not doing what it is supposed to do

Frontline Spray No Longer Woks!!!

I breed Devon rex cats which are flea magnets. I sprayed them with prescription, expensive frontline spray only a few weeks ago and today noticed that they are once again running alive with fleas even though they are in a cattery and never go out. When I treated the cats I also treated the whole room with a household spray, and washed all their bedding on a boil wash. Don't waste your money. It no longer works.

My other moggie cats which go out into the fields all day, wear poundland flea collars as do the dogs and there are no fleas at all on them. However I cannot use the collars on my rex cats as it makes them throw up.

My Dog Had Only A Few Fleas. My Vet Recommended I

My dog had only a few fleas. My vet recommended I try frontline. It did not work. Fleas still there. Was told to apply it again in 2 weeks. I did and still did not work. Im going back to Advantix as soon as I can safely apply it to my dog. It works.

Dont waste your money on frontline. I have 2 vials left and Im throwing them in the trash.

On My Kitties, Merial Frontline Has Worked For Fle

On my kitties, Merial Frontline has worked for fleas and ticks so far. For my dog, 1-2 weeks after application we took over 30 ticks off her! Don't know why, but as pricey as it is they might want to adverstise more adequately where it won't work so people won't waste their money.

Was Very Disappointed With The Frontline, Consider

Was very disappointed with the Frontline, considering I had used it on my cats for many years without any problems. Now, my new edition is scratching all the time and has brought fleas into the house. Biting me at great strength! I got the pipets from my local chemist at the cost of £17 which is a lot of money. If it don't work it is very disappointing. I have spent a lot of money on other products to get rid of the fleas in my home costing even more money. Why has this product stopped working? I would like to know.

And it is fiPronil, not fiNopril, as I constantly wote! I do have a bad habbit of mixing letters in strange words, sorry!

I don't think Merial changed the formula in Frontline Plus, it is still finopril and S-metophrene, first aiming to kill adult fleas, the second is juvenile hormone added in Frontline to prevent fleas from breeding. But this product (finopril especially, since it was active ingredient in the first plain version of Frontline) has been in use for years now. Fleas have very fast cycle of reproduction (as we all very well know while fighting them off), and those fleas who years ago managed to survive the poison, gave their immunity to their off-springs. So, where ever the Frontline was applied for long time, the population of fleas can be considered immune to its active ingredients. It is just the law of evolution, simple and plane. We have a range of bacteria resistant to antibiotics, why not fleas resistant to Frontline!? Only different insecticide may kill them now, some that local population of fleas have not coped with yet.

I would like to agree with both the review and the previous comment. I have used frontline for many years on up to six cats at any one time in the family, and when used in conjunction with a good household spray (I have found Zodiac to be one of the most effective) up until this autumn the combination of both products has always provided a quick and effective solution to the problem. However, I now only have two small feline friends, both of whom are regularly treated with frontline and don't mix with other cats. Up until now, this year has been trouble free but over the past few weeks despite every effort, even hard floors have been washed and thoroughly sprayed, and both cats received another frontline treatment exactly one week ago, they are still not flea free. I don't like to apply another spot on treatment so soon after the last, but has the formula been altered or have the fleas built up an immunity? Any further comments or suggestions from other reviewers would be most welcome.

I to have used frontline and more recently frontline combi on my cats for years. Up until 6 months ago, when after using 3 pipet treatments in as many weeks on each cat, they still seemed to have fleas and plenty of them. I also had used staykill in and around the house and washed all the pet bedding etc. I too agree that they may have changed the formula. I cannot put it down to anything else. My cat's lifestyle or environment in which my cats live have not changed at all. That final fact is that I AM NEVER GOING TO BUY OR RECOMMEND FRONTLINE PRODUCTS AGAIN.

Merial The Manufacturers Were Very Helpful, But Th

Merial the manufacturers were very helpful, but there product just didn't work. We tried it for 6 months (as Merial stated there could be a problem in our area - a "flea burden' or 'flea challenge' as they call it). But we switched to Revolution as we just couldn't leave it any longer and the fleas were gone in days! We went from 100s of eggs noticeable in the dog's bedding every morning to absolutely none within days of starting Revolution - amazing!

I Used The Liquid, As Instructed (after Using Anot

I used the liquid, as instructed (after using another brand). My mum recommended Frontline to us, as she'd used it in the past. After putting it on my cat (Tiger), the next day I could tell there was a difference. Tiger was back to normal - eating his food and a lot happier. Also, we had seen dead fleas come off Tiger, which was a blessing. I will be using the Merial Frontline flea treatment every month now without fail, and the calendar stickers supplied in the pack were great. I paid £15.50 in total for 6 months' treatment. I would be prepared to pay a lot more for such a good product.

Don't make the same mistake that we did. Not all brands are as good as this one!!

Merial Frontline Flea And Pest Treatment Did Not K

Merial Frontline Flea and Pest treatment did not keep sheep ticks away, and they returned only days after being applied, which was certainly not as specified.
