Poodles are one of the most elegant and the smartest dogs in the world. They have gorgeous curly hair and they’re able to remember anything as quickly as humans do. As they are often very friendly and able to follow guides properly, it’s not so difficult to discipline and teach some manners to poodles, either. Moreover, they also have excellent physical abilities so that you can enjoy some championships with your poodles as well. Poodles are always available in pet shops, but it’s also possible to buy them directly from dog breeders. Although I can’t deny that it does cost much to buy and keep them healthy, I strongly recommend that you should have a poodle if you’re thinking about having a dog as a pet. I’m totally sure you and your poodle can create a good relationship together.

From my experience, poodles are good house dogs, do not moult so are ideal for families with asthma sufferers, intelligent, good companions, very loving, friendly. My standard poodle has never bitten or snapped, even when being wrestled by three children.

They can be scavengers who will eat off worktops, out of dust bins. If you show them, they take a lifetime of grooming and care. My standard has a tendency to get ear infections at least three times a year (times £35 per vet trip). They are faddy eaters, you give one human food and you can forget dog food for a week.

Even with a few faults, they are excellent dogs, given parameters. Well recommended.

Poodles are a great companion, and they are also loyal and protective. They have boundless energy until they hit double figures, and then it begins to wain a little. Courageous and highly intelligent. Give them a treat one day and they try the "I am not eating ever again unless I get the same treat as yesterday" trick. Don't fall for it or they will have you in the palm of their paws. When you are poorly they go quiet and soulful. Laugh and they spring all over the place and smile with you. Shout and they think the world is over.
