Pointer

I own a German shorthair pointer who is about 8 months old now. So far she has been a great addition to our family. We purchased her along with a black lab and they have been getting along perfectly and are the best of friends. The pointer is a lean, athletic dog that can run all day and is great for joggers and bikers. The coloration is beautiful with patches of brown and liver. This dog is first and foremost a bird hunting dog and should not be considered if you do not plan on training her to hunt. The desire to hunt and point birds is inbred and my pup was pointed sparrows in the bushes within a few weeks. If you have a small property this dog will not work for you as they are always running and searching for birds. I have a 30 acre farm and my pup occasionaly leaves in pursuit of a bird. overall a very friendly dog and a great companion for any hunter.
