There are 60 to 80 applicants for each housesitting position. It is like trying to play the lottery! They refused to give us a refund even though we told them how dissatisfied we are with their service. Don't waste your money.

I am a retired man aged 69 and have been a member of Trustedhousesitters for two years. During that time I have house sat in various places throughout England and several countries. When I have house sat abroad there has always been a car provided for my use. My recommendation to everyone is that you ask the house owner if they have a car for your use, even if you have to pay out for the extra insurance it is worth it and does not cost very much.

House sitting through Trustedhousesitters has given me an interest in my retirement and as I love animals and do not have any of my own, I am also keeping fit looking after them.

I always make sure that I speak with the house owners to find out as much as I can about their pets, home and surrounding areas before I book any flights etc. after I have booked flights I always e mail the booking to the house owners. That way they know I am serious and genuine.

One other thing I prepare a meal for the house owners upon their return as a thank you for allowing me to live in their home and look after their pets.
