The Lodge Boarding Kennels & Cattery, Anwick Fen, Sleaford

I take my dog here every year for their (and my!) holidays. Lovely people who run the place, and my dog is always happy when I collect him. I wouldn't take my dog to just any boarding kennels, but I've got no concerns about this one. Recommended!

I moved into the area a year ago, and have used The Lodge kennels several times. I had two dogs when I first moved here, but unfortunately Oscar was rather geriatric and in his last illness. Nevertheless he stayed at The Lodge with Millie for a couple of short stays, I could not fault the staff for their care. I lost Oscar at the end of last year, but have continued to board Millie at The Lodge for short and long stays. The Lodge has helped me out at short notice several times, and nothing is too much trouble.

I agree with the previous comment that The Lodge doesn't look up to much at first view, but what matters is how the animals are cared for and treated. I have seen a few pristine and highly-polished establishments where the animals are bored and unhappy. Not so at The Lodge, where it is obvious that the animals come first.

I grew up with dogs and have had them as pets all my adult life, and The Lodge is one of only two establishments which I have felt able to trust absolutely.

The Lodge doesn't look up to much, to be honest: if you want somewhere pristine and gleaming, look elsewhere.

However, look past the exterior and you will find that The Lodge is an absolutely fabulous place to board your dogs. The owners are quite obviously dog-mad, and when you walk down the kennels you will see that the dogs are well cared-for, healthy and above all HAPPY.

Our dog has stayed there twice and seems to have loved every minute of it. We will be taking him back in January, and we would not hesitate to recommend The Lodge to everyone. It's brilliant!

We have a 4 yr old rescue dog who is very nervous and has been rehomed several times. He went to stay with Stella for a week in Sept 2011 and we had no idea if he had been in kennels before and were a little apprehensive. However, he went straight into the kennel without a backward glance and came out very happy and clean. Due to his nervousness, which we have worked very hard to eliminate, we did think that he would have some backward tendancies after his experience in the kennels, but this has not been the case and we are extremly pleased about this.

stella & david looked after my elderly dog while we went to a wedding she came out happy and clean ,all her bedding was washed ready for me,all her medication was given ,she is diabetic.the kennels are clean and has alot of grass to run and play she loves a ball.

My dogs love go to The Lodge Boarding Kennels & Cattery and i have no trouble with them entering a kennel they don't even look back to say goodbye. Dogs are well cared for,given lots of exercise and play. My only bad point is in the winter it gets muddy in the paddocks.
