Very Disappointed

I took my 3 cats to Beryl Browns in November last year. The staff seemed professional and friendly and I felt comfortable leaving my cats with them. I had asked the staff to brush the cats as they love it and I thought it would help them feel at ease.

When my son arrived to collect the cats after our holiday he found them huddled together and very frightened. There was also wet food in the pen with them. I had made it very clear that my cats do not eat wet food and have the chicken Hills diet. I was assured this food was stocked and my cats would be fed this.

I phoned the Cattery once I was aware of these problems and was told the food had been given by mistake on the last day although I only have their word for this. My cats were unfriendly and no one had touched them. My cats are extremely docile and love affection. The vet can handle them without any problem.

I have used another Cattery in the past and just decided to change because Beryl Browms was closer to our home. I have never had an issue with my usual Cattery and have found the cats happy and settled when collected.

I will not use Beryl Browns again.

Brilliant

Can highly recommend Beryl Brown's. Have used these kennels for 2 years now. Such lovely and friendly staff and have no issues at all leaving my dog with them unlike some places I've used before.

Jack, Russle And Dolly

I've been using BB for a number of years now and although I hate leaving my babies, I know they are very safe and looked after there, I have 3 Jack Russels and have never had any complaints about what condition they come back in , the girls there are always friendly and greet my dogs like old friends, they feed them what I leave for them and generally take good care of them , I fully recommend these kennels to any one that needs to leave their loved pet as I know mine are very happy there xx

Best Kennels In These Parts!

I've been using Beryl Brown's now for around twelve years. They always looked after my Staffie, Solo, on and off all her life and now that she's gone they look after my English Bull Terrier, Badger. They always make a fuss of the dogs they look after and I can't fault them. My boy is on James Wellbeloved and they always make sure that he is fed what he normally eats and keep records. He had a bit of a skin flare up and had to have cream rubbed into his hip. I left him in the kennels and let them know and when I came back a week later the tube was almost empty and his condition had gone! I can't recommend them more highly. Try them, you won't regret it.

Beryl Brown's Boarding For Boxers

We needed to board our two lovely Boxers while we were on holiday. I interviewed five kennels and decided on Beryl Brown's because of the staff I met on three separate unannounced visits. Each time, I was welcomed to look around and talk to staff. On one occasion, another dog owner was collecting his pet and I got to ask him for feedback. He was very positive and had been boarding his dog there for ten years!

The kennels are divided into four sections; for little dogs, big dogs and bitches in season. Three sections are heated. One section has enclosed runs for exercising. Our Boxers were accommodated together in a large heated kennel (under-paw heating), with a small outside area. They were exercised four times a day. I supplied their food as they are on a special large breed active dog diet.

Costs:

£326 for 14 days for two dogs (plus a gratuity)

Liked:

Staff are wonderful, real dog-lovers. They made a big fuss of my 'boys'. The surroundings are lovely. Even though the kennels are heated, we supplied beds and blankets and the staff ensured that the dogs were warm, especially in the snowy weather in February.

Disliked:

The dogs don't get to run in the lovely surroundings. I suppose it would be just too difficult to control them all. My big dog didn't seem to eat well, although he is fine and has picked up the weight nicely since coming home. I did feel that we could have got a detailed report of how they got on, but perhaps that is expecting too much from a busy kennel. We were assured that they were 'absolutely fine'.

What next?

We have booked them in again, and this time have arranged a dog-walker to take them out each day. The staff are very happy for this to happen, and I think this will work well for us too.
