Super Expensive Poor Quality Wardrobes... Avoid This Company

Very unprofessional and ignorant stuff, all they care is money. They promise the world and they deliver very little.

The designer would swear that they have their own fitters when I questioned it, but guess what, they subcontract all of their work to unqualified carpenters. We paid £5000 for a fitted wardrobe, if you can call it that. The finish product isn't anywhere near a fitted unit, it has gaps and excessive cork being applied between units/panels. However, no attention to detail whatsoever and of course, low budget material and hardware was used to manufacture it all. Let alone the fitting.... On top of all, the fitter damaged all my property during delivery of materials and the fitting of the unit.

The floor and other surroundings were never covered/protected. All his tools were placed on top of my brand new bed and allover the unprotected oak floor. Anyways, when the job was done, fitter just packed his tools and walked away without cleaning his mess. Quite disgusted as I was promised the house will be cleaned as well as the wardrobe being left ready to put my clothes in.

They forgotten to include the soft closing system when they manufactured the unit and came and fitted it all without saying a word. They agreed to do it when I questioned it but, they had to take the doors away to cut them shorter to allow for soft closing systems to be fitted. Of course as it was never accounted for the soft close, when they cut the doors cut them too short. WHAT tolerances this company works with??? A complete bodge!!!

Stay well away from them as there are better and cheaper firms out there, just requires a bit more research.

Much Better Than Expected

I recently had a large Sliderobes wardrobe installed, from start (design) to finish (installation) everything was first class. Everyone involved was friendly, professional and helpful. I now have a bedroom that looks as if I paid three times more than I actually did.

Everything was finished on time to a really good spec.

Highly recommended.

Worst Ever

Spent a lot of money getting 2 wardrobes in my house over 12k.

18 faults or problems in wardrobes when fitter left, joining two pieces of timber in main panels where should be one piece, chip out of wood, bigger gaps than should be, screws missing, caps missing, uprights not straight, very poor workmanship , hopefully they will sort it out as after service isn't great I'll update when sorted. Over priced defo better value for money out there.

Part 2 The dispute is now finalized , they came out to house to fix problems, only fixed some, created more cracked two skirting boards, left more gaps, the units that was in showroom has no silver caps holding backs of wardrobes on where in one of my wardrobes i had 70 ugly silver caps doesnt look anything like showroom, still gaps between doors, one of the finish on one of the filler pieces on front of wardrobe is different, chalk missing in parts of filler piece, screw hole in one of shelves, three hand prints on one of the walls, some scuffs on them. The funny part is now they are taking me to court as this is to sliderobes standards i will upload pictures later to show what im talking about.

Avoid Sliderobes At All Costs!!!!

We originally chose to use Sliderobes as they seemed to be far better quality than the rest of their competitors off the high street and the wardrobes looked great.

We promptly chose our designs for the two wardrobes and then arranged for one of their fitters to come around to give a quote. The lady turned up who worked out all the dimensions and then finally gave us a quote. The lady was great and had a great persona about her. The quote turned out to be towards the higher end of the spectrum, but being a permanent fixture in the house I thought this would be worth it and will certainly add value to the house. We decided to go along with the quote.

About three weeks later I receive a phone call from Sliderobes (a lady in finance around Chelmsford / Basildon area) to arrange a fitting date. She mentioned that you could ONLY have two different dates (two days side by side) one mid month and one towards the end of the month. She was quite abrupt and rude but I still went ahead with the order (as I wanted my wardrobes) and I chose the two days mid month. Now, this phone call was on Friday and then I promptly received another phone call the following Monday morning from the lady to tell me that I could NO LONGER have the two dates I chose but instead I would have to have two separate days with about a week in-between them. I did not want this as I wanted the two wardrobes done together in two days. Again, she came across very rude and abrupt. I asked her if I could have two days side by side the following month and she told me that there were no more days available and that I HAD TO HAVE the two separate days that she originally told me. I told her that her company was not particularly 'flexible' and she replied... 'NO!’ I guess not.

Anyway, after this I decided to ask for a full refund.

I then decided to phone up the head quarters to complain about their lack of customer relations and to ask for a full refund. The Head of customer relations for Sliderobes said he was 'surprised' by the 'lack' of customer care I had received. He got in touch with the person who owns about 12 Sliderobes stores throughout the UK. He then phones up to find out why I have suddenly cancelled the order of which I give him the reason - outlining just how 'RUDE and ABRUPT' his staff member  was. He was surprised indicating that she had been an employee of his for around 8 years - makes me wonder how the company managed to stay afloat with employees as rude and as arrogant as that! Anyway, he then finally agrees to give me my deposit back and cancel the order.

Two days later, having already found a much 'better' company and also less expensive to supply my wardrobes (a company based in the UK but I ordered online) I decided to have a quick look at the materials of the wardrobes in Sliderobes Cambridge again - just to have a look, nothing more than that. A day later I receive a threatening phone call from the man asking me if I had been inside the Cambridge store the day before. I had just gone in there to look at the wardrobe finishes i.e to see what the finishes looked like as a complete unit on the finished wardrobes.

He told me that he was going to tell his staff that I am no longer welcome in his stores. Subsequently BANNING me from ALL Sliderobes stores - all because I had the audacity to go into the Cambridge store to have a look at the wardrobes in their entirety.

He told me that he did not want to 'see me' or 'hear from me' ever again.

I told him that I could not understand why he was taking this approach and he told me that this was an approach HE was going to take. Very similar attitude to the previous lady. I think he may not have liked the fact that I had been in discussions with Head of Customer Relations for the main parent company.

The man came across threatening on the phone and all because I had the audacity of walking into the Cambridge store 'off the street' to look at the wardrobes in their entirety.

Completely childish in my opinion and totally unnecessary.

I resent being spoken to and threatened down the phone like that. I have now found myself two wardrobes which are currently being made up - the quality of which 'and service' are far better than received through 'Sliderobes'.

He may have visions of me being a 'small fry' in a large world but I am certainly far from it - my family and friends are all high up (and I have certainly got a lot of contacts).

I must say I was surprised to have received such a LOW LEVEL OF SERVICE and customer care from a company I thought were going to be the best. I was wrong and luckily I found a company elsewhere who were much better and also less expensive. The man actually saved me money in the end - something good actually came from this!!!!

My business with Sliderobes is now over and I will certainly 'not' be recommending your brand to anybody in the future.

To summarise....

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING SLIDEROBES!!!!! THERE ARE FAR BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE!!!!!! WITH FAR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALSO LESS EXPENSIVE - ALL FOR EXACTLY THE SAME PRODUCT!!!!

AVOID SLIDEROBES AT ALL COSTS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!

Please Avoid And Look For Alternatives

Please read this before committing!

We have been looking to replace our wardrobes and after finding out there was a Sliderobes in Maidstone we decided to stay local. My wife and I got excited and went to the showroom and were greeted by a nice lady.

An advisor had been assigned to come to the house for a quotation where after deciding on a design and colour the cost was £5700! We didnt argue on price as they talked a good game and the design was what we were after.

After numerous calls for a visit to ask if I needed to pull down a door frame the owner came out in his new Jaguar and was one of the most condescending people I have met. No wonder he is not tasked with normal face to face business. He agreed the frame would need to come out 'but its ok, get the plasterer in afterwards'.

Long story short, I got the wall sorted and Sliderobes came to fit on Monday.

Disgusting! Uneven, marked, chrome tarnished, shelves not set back correctly, doors marked and DIRTY!!! £5700 and not even wiped down properly!! My wife spent the next hour cleaning them down.

I spoke to the advisor who came out and asked us to make a list of 10-20 things we didn't like then after realising this was ridiculous agreed to replace all of the interior. Along with myself, Sliderobes are in the business of 'Luxury' goods. People don't NEED expensive wardrobes, we choose to have them.

The team came back out to refit today. Not the whole interior, just a few parts.

After the fitter had patronised my wife I have made the call today to request a call back.

Quite simple, only my wife has been involved until now, but asked for a call before I get home at 5.30 or I would be dismantle the wardrobes and drop them back to the Aylesford branch. I received a call from the owner after my Facebook review who said they were not unreasonable people and they would come and collect the wardrobes and would save me a trip dropping them off.

I got home and had a look last night and after deciding we were still not happy made an offer of an additional £2500 to take the total to £3500. Or I would still be happy to dismantle for a refund.

I took a return call this morning who stated 'this is the best it is going to get' and if we chose to take it down they do not care as this is my decision. It turns out the 14 day cool off period with Barclays is worth nothing as they have already paid Sliderobes so an investigation has been opened. I have also contacted the Retail Ombudsman so a case could be raised against them also.

Please look at alternatives rather than choosing this company. They are extremely nice until they have your money then wash their hands.

Sliderobe fitted in bedroom 14-03-16 Ord.number 146614.Bedroom was measured by Newtownabby staff.

We were very pleased with the work carried out by the fitters,they left the room clean and tidy.

We were very pleased with the whole experience and would recommend Starplan to our friends

Overall Very Dissapointed

ordered wardrobes took 8 weeks to arrive, when they did they were all wrong.. ordered again waited and waited and waited..every time we phoned we were told the people we wanted to speak to were unavailable , they already took large deposit.. after nearly 14 weeks we phoned yet again and still could not speak to anyone... In the end spoke to head office and got money back.. extremely poor way to treat people.. We went to another well known fitted wardrobes and from start to finish took just 25 days .. well impressed.. If any is thinking about sliderobes please think again..

i am dealing with this company at the moment as you have stated i have been waiting since september been calling for 3 weeks eventually received a callback yesterday only to be told it will be the week ending 16 december that they wll be out to fit the interior and xmas eve for the doors a terrible company to deal with too late for me to go elsewhere for xmas finish will have to wait to see the quality very dissapointed

Worst Customer Service Ever, Can't Even Keep A Promise!

They told us in September we would get our wardrobe installed by the end of October.

They called 2 weeks ago to say "we'll call you next week with an installation date"

Then no one called!

I have since called them THREE times, on each occasion a member of staff promised to call me back & then DIDN'T CALL BACK!

I've now had to call them FOUR TIMES & we still don't have a date!

Really bad customer service when you can't even set my expectations or even call me back when you promise to do so (3 times you have broke your promise to return my call!!!)

If I had known how bad your customer service was going to be I wouldn't have let you come & rip out my old wardrobe so quickly.

You must be joking! I've already phoned you several times & no one brothers to ever return my call!!

It's now 10:45pm on a Wednesday night and your fitter is still here!!

He's now been here over 12 hours and I want to go to bed but I can't as he's still drilling, sawing & banging!!

This is totally unacceptable, plus he doesn't even have all the parts so can't even finish the wardrobe tonight!!

The whole thing is totally ridiculous and I'm completely fed up with it.

Please can you call me as I'm really really pee'd off if you hadn't already worked that out?

I also want to make a formal complaint but there are no compliant details on your website??

I look forward to hearing from you, but won't hold my breath.

Do you have the 10 year guarantee? If so have you tried ringing them and asking them if they can mend them, they should have your measurments on file.
