Kuba dining table and chairs

To start the chairs are great, have lasted and are comfortable. The issues are with the table, when originally delivered it looked fine then after a couple of months began to form cracks in the wood, the advert states that the table will truly last a lifetime. If a few months equates a lifetime then this statement would be correct.

When advising Oak Furniture King of the issues the asked to sent photos, we did, at this point the table was exchanged, only problem being that the replacement was far worse (In my opinion I would say that the tables were reconditioned products).

A new replacement was sent and this looked ok, other than the patches of filler on the legs etc..(again in my opinion reconditioned or at least botched returns).

A couple of months later the table began to form cracks again, this time Oak furniture king offer us £50 to keep the table, offer kindly refused, they sent someone from an external company to repair the table, he took one look and said the table is warped, and advised this happens when the wood isn’t dried out properly during manufacture, he said he wouldn’t be able to guarantee any repair so left advising the table would need to be replaced again.

Long story short the table has warped and has cracks in after 5 months this time.

We have lots of Oak furniture from other retailers/manufacturers and these have been in exactly the same conditions/environment and are all in perfect condition. Oak Furniture King have told us that the table is now beyond the warranty even know technically only 5 months since supply of this table. Having to get replacement tables was not fun and very inconvenient all that was wanted was a table fit for purpose and matching the advert, Oak Furniture King did not and are unwilling to supply this. I would advise buying a table elsewhere.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding.

We have reviewed the information you have provided along with the images with our management and we have reached a decision. Based on the images, the issues reported are not consistent with a fault down to manufacturing and as such this would not be something we would assist with.

Whilst the item was exchanged in March this year, the warranty period still applies from the date of purchase and as such the warranty expired on the 22nd June 2018. There were no issues reported with the Table whilst the warranty was in effect and the issues do not affect the overall purpose or function of the Table, this would not have been covered by the warranty on the table.

We understand that this may not be the response you are expecting however our decision is final and we would not look at reviewing it further.

Ordered some Garden Furniture from them this summer, a 2 seat lounger to be exact and I couldn't be happier with the product. It was slightly over what I would have like to have paid, however I can see where the extra money went!

However was not very happy with the delivery, the courier wasn't the best and made it very difficult as they got the delivery day wrong initially, and then were over an hour late!

The company did apologise which made it a bit better, however they would be much better if they found a different courier!
