Individual Furniture - Cardiff

The furniture from Individual Furniture in Cardiff is excellent, They have a wide range of fantastic furniture for everyone. I got most of my furniture from here and really happy I did... I go to another place called Kassa Furniture there furniture is worldwide and superb! I would strongly recommend this place to anyone Check them both out!

WIthout a doubt the worst tradesperson experience I have ever encountered.

The advisor I dealt with of Individual Furniture agreed to build a simple piece of furniture for me, saying that he would have it done in 2-3 weeks. 10 months later it's still not complete. He comes across as a nice person, takes the money but then can't be contacted. I've called and emailed close to 100 times with only occasional replies. Generally he claims that he hasn't received any messages, that his phone has been lost, that his computer has crashed or some other excuse. Initially I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but it's gone well beyond any reasonable time frame.

So now I'm left with a half finished, poor quality piece of furniture and a tradesperson who just wont finish it. I'm now in the situation of throwing it out and starting again with another tradesperson and maybe taking him to court to get my money back.

To make matters worse, on his visit to the flat he managed to spill paint solvent on my Eames chair and left glue on my dining table legs. Both are destroyed.

Just don't take the risk with this guy.

Very disappointed doesn't come close to my experiences with Shane and Individual Furniture.

This is a review of Individual Furniture, a sole trader (Shane Taylor) business based in Cardiff.

Shane Taylor of Individual Furniture agreed to supply furniture in early 2010. He was particularly helpful and kind in the specification of the furniture and received a deposit from us. However, half-way through the job we had not seen any of the work and we were presented with excuses for that fact, but were ensured that it is progressing. On that basis Shane Taylor received a second payment from us. Since then his attitude changed completely. He failed to show, supply and install the ordered furniture in many agreed dates. The Cardiff trading standards office contacted Shane Taylor who again failed to offer a date for installation. The case will now be taken to the court and despite our warning, Shane Taylor has not got in touch with us to settle this issue 4 months after the agreed delivery deadline.

I would stay away from Individual Furniture. Do not give Shane Taylor any money in advance. He seems kind and honest, but only until money is received.
