Returned a chair which didn't suit for comfort: a personal thing, no reflection on the quality or its fitness for purpose. The item was well packed and in excellent condition.

We were told that one of the legs was missing so we asked that the unpacker check again, but no, "he is still scratching his head".

So were we: they were returned as two packs of 2 legs all bound together with packing tape. I called later, leaving a message, to say that we couldn't find the missing leg (no surprise to us) and said how we had packed them.

He replied a few minutes later; he " had managed to get another leg from the supplier".

Wasn't that lucky ?

So now they have five.

Given the importance that was attached(sorry!) to the "missing" leg, I leave it to you to decide on whether you should photograph your returns whilst packing and why this might be a prudent thing to do.

Searching for a decent folding bed led me to futon sofabeds direct.co.uk. After comparing prices around the web I took the punt and ordered a high end Jay-Be Crown Premier folding bed. I was initially surprised to discover that there was no addition to the delivery charge which is often the case due to us living in a remote area of north east Scotland which often gets wrongly classified as being in the highlands. I was even more amazed when the van arrived three working days after purchase which again is unusual as delivery’s here are often excessively delayed. The driver was more than happy to assist with getting the rather large package into the room we wanted.

The bed is extremely comfortable and definitely worth the price tag, it comes pre-assembled apart from the headboard which took less than 15 minutes to attach using the 3 supplied bolts and Allen keys. The frame easily folds up for storage and is secured with a robust nylon strap when folded. The pocket sprung mattress is very comfortable and feels like it will last for a long time. This company really can't do enough to help their customers. When I initially contacted them, I needed the futon in a hurry. The member of staff I spoke to called the manufacturer and arranged an express service. The only hitch was that the delivery company managed to damage the mattress but even this wasn't a problem. Futon Sofa Beds Direct had a new mattress made the same day and arranged for a trusted carrier to deliver just in time for my visitors' arrival.

The futon itself is as I expected for the price, wouldn't want to sleep on it every night but it's a perfectly acceptable guest Bed and makes an attractive sofa.

All in all, a great experience and I would recommend.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the products are good value for money. However, I can not recommend them unless you are collecting the item yourself as the couriers they use are worse than bad. 5 days of missed waiting in for deliveries promised that haven't turned up.

Found this company online whilst looking for a replacement futon mattress.

Very good product selection and the website is easy to use - product received also matches perfectly the colour sample demonstrated online.

Very good customer service with members of staff also offering more information about the product over the telephone - every member of staff spoken to had a very good telephone manner.

Delivery was fast, free and on time and we were contacted by the company to say that the product was going to delivered that day. Only comment is that the delivery upgrades i.e. nominated day delivery were expensive.
