Arion Reclining Sofa

We purchased this sofa seven years ago and I have tried to like it ever since.

It was very expensive and has been very disappointing.

It felt very comfortable in the store but after bringing it home we realized that it was not comfortable after sitting in it for a longer time.

You have to have an ottoman to make it comfortable enough to recline in. One ottoman doesn't work for all three seats so we have had to get two of them. (The middle seat is not used much.)

The three seats are cupped and so lying down on it is impossible.

I must say that the leather has held up very well and is comfortably soft.

Our biggest problem has been the reclining mechanism. The two end seats have had to have their mechanisms replaced numerous times. Over the years one of the seats has always been broken and we have had to wait a long time for replacement parts to be ordered.

We have finally decided to get two individual recliners (not Ekornes!) that are a lot more comfortable and have a built in foot rest.

Four months after buying the leather was really badly creased. A firm inspect pronounced this as 'normal' although a second fixed seat sofa remains uncreated after 6 years. The recliner continued to disappoint, sagging and uncomfortable. I thought I was buying a quality item that would last a lifetime - it is a write off now. Be warned, the 10 year guarantee refers only to the reclining mechanism. :(
