We'd been looking to buy and fit a 'wooden' floor into our living room for some time. Eventually at the Easter weekend we began looking for the right one. It was a harder job than I thought as there are so many different types to choose from. Having thought we wanted a 'real' wood floor we began pricing them and they aren't cheap! Laminate flooring was much cheaper but we have that in another room and it's okay but not as good as we wanted in the living room. A friend advised us to speak to Big Tree Wooden Products, so after looking at their website we phoned them and spoke to someone called Lorna. She was really good, she took her time to go through the various floors they had, explained the difference between laminate and engineered and even showed us the floors that were on offer. We chose an oiled oak solid wood floor and ordered skirting to match. She advised us not to fit the floor for at least a week and to leave the floor in the room it was going to be fitted into for that time as it would expand or contract depending on the heat and moisture in the room.

The floor arrived when promised and we unpacked it and left it in the living room as advised. A neighbour who fits floors for a living fitted it for us a week later and was very complimentary about the quality.

The floor looks brilliant, we're really happy with it.
