I fell into the 'white van' salesman rubbish heap and was trapped. I was approached by a chap in a white van with "Nightsleep" written on the side whilst walking down my road: "Do you know anyone who wants to buy a memory foam mattress love?" He asked. I pondered because I had been looking for an orthopaedic mattress topper and thought this might be just the key. He said a double bed would usually cost £699 and he had labels on the mattress's saying just that. They were all sealed too. I asked: 'How much?' to which he replied "I'll give you it for £170.00. I tried to knock him down to £100.00 but he wouldn't accept this and we finished up agreeing on £150.00. He would only accept cash too. Alarm bells were ringing slightly but he gave me a business card, receipt and re-assured me that 'he would happily collect it the following day and give me a full refund if I weren't happy'. I was convinced by all this, what turned out to be false information, so I paid up and the sale was done. Later in the day I opened the mattress to an awful smell. I just put it down to the fact that it was new. I put on some clean bedding and slept on it that night. By morning I was very uncomfortable and my back was yelling out 'what have you done to me'. My partner wasn't too impressed either. I decided this wasn't for us and gave the number a call on the card. A chap answered and I explained that we wanted to return the mattress. His attitude then was awful and he was constantly questioning me. These questions then turned argumentative and he refused to collect the item. I told him the sales chap offered me a full refund and collection of the item the following day, should I not be happy with the product. He then denied this saying "I'll be speaking to him (the sales rep) and that the sale was done and that's that". Just for the record the mattress still has that awful smell to it and I don't personally think it's the real 'memory foam'. I've looked online and you can get brand new memory foam mattress's for less than half the price so please guy and girls, DON'T BE FOOLED!!!!

is that not what a memory foam mattress is supposed to do - mould to your body shape ? Got my nightsleep king size bed, headboard and mattress for £200 two and a half years ago from a man in a van. It is fine for the price - you get what you pay for. Go and buy a Sealy bed or similar for £1000 if you want the quality you are expecting to get.

Worst Mattress Ever

I purchased two new mattresses from someone.

They have been awful.

I have contacted them to have them replaced and received promise after

promise.

The one on my granddaughters bed looks as though some elephants have slept

in it or walked all over it. She is only 11 and not a big lass and not

a rough lass.

The one on my daughter and her husband's bed seems to be coming apart.

I have contacted the supplier and they have promised to replace but that

has been three months now.

Rubbish.

Now I appreciate I have been an idiot, I bought two double mattresses direct from their van driver for a quoted Trade Price of £300 about four or five weeks ago. They are described as Orthopaedic/Memory Foam Mattresses. Ortho on one side Memory on the other. On the face of it a good idea. In reality? well judge for yourself.

Slept on the Memory Foam side for one week, and at the end of the week were faced with two valleys running down the length of the mattress where it had sagged. (my wife is four feet eleven tall and weighs six stone when wet through!!) The sag measured just over an inch deep on my side. Turned the Mattress to the orthopaedic side and within a week it was displaying same symptoms but not so deep a sag.

Second mattress was used for two nights by visiting friends, and after two nights was showing similar signs, and neither of them are exactly heavyweights. We have christened them

I bought an apparrent memory foam from a van. It did look the biz but after a couple of weeks it sank and is terrible. I got given a receipt and thought I'd lost it. I've just found the receipt, the mattress is only 4 months old so im going to have a drive down to their depot with it and demand a refund. Should be fun!

Has anybody bought a night sleep mattress and are they happy with it? Also how much should a king size memory foam cost?
