Basically Do Not Buy A Bed From This Company. I Pa

Basically do not buy a bed from this company. I paid £900 for a bed in June 2011 and it was coated with a toxic paint that gave me health difficulties and big cracks appeared in it within three months. It was a four poster bed and very heavy. I could not use the bed because it could have collapsed on us due to cracks in wood not supporting the weight of the posts above us. Could have killed us. I rang the company many times, wrote letters. They didn't care. I should have taken them to Court like others have and wished I had, but at the time I was caring for a disabled child and a baby and had my hands pretty much full. I didn't have the money to waste. I don't want anyone else to be tricked by these people. They may trade under a lot of different names, so be really careful purchasing a four poster bed from ebay, looking tudor and handmade. They look really nice but they are dangerous and the company seriously doesn't care.

Attempted Fraud - And Successful Court Case

To cut a long story short, I paid £400 deposit for a double bed from Kingsmead's web store (www.beds4beds.co.uk) in March 2011. After months and months of being fobbed off with excuse after excuse about missed shipments, issues with the supplier, and so on. Kingsmead even tried telling me that, and I quote "Trading Standards won't do anything". This was the final straw, and basically saying that "we're untouchable". At this point I realised it was a scam and proceeded to initiated a Small Claims case, which I won and got my full deposit back plus the minimal court costs.

Please let me put the following rumours to rest:

1) It is difficult and costly to take them to court - it isn't difficult, I did it, and I won

2) That even if you win in court they still don't pay - they do, I got my £485 back. After I won the hearing I still didnt receive my money back, s but don't be discouraged, just use the Court's Enforcement service, which if need be can freeze assets, or recover stock to be auctioned in order to pay you back.

The small claims process (for sub-£5k claims) is excellent, efficient and very effective. I would encourage anyone who has had this problem not to listen to people putting them off taking it to court, because just put the detail together, be objective, and you will get what is rightfully yours back.

I would also be very open to spending 5 minutes on the phone with anyone who needs any advice on this from someone who has successfully got their money back, because I don't see why these cheats should scam anyone else out of hard earned money.

Beware A Complete Rip Off Company Kingsmead.

Purchased a double Louis style bed from kingsmead in September 2011. Once recieved a few days later I put the bed together to find that the bed was poorly made and the holes where miss lined which meant that it wouldn't screw into place. I phoned kingsmead to be told don't worry, use the bed and we will order you a replacement from indonisia. They said this could take upto 3 months to make. I was reassured as they sent me a letter confirming what was happening. I phoned up 3 months later to to be told we can't find the bed. Ring back in a few weeks and we will know more.

Since trying to get in touch with the company the number no longer insists. Got in touch with eBay and they give me a 0845 number to ring but a women answered saying I'm new to the company and I'm at home. Strange a new employee answering a phone at home.....

This company is just a complete joke. After researching this company a Patricia Bobrowski owns this company and several company's running from her unit.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CON ARTISTS!!!!!!

Beware Company Now Claims "closed Down"

I have entered judgement in court on a small claim against this company as the bed I recieved was cracked throughout the woodwork. My claim has just come back saying "Closed down gone away" Buyers beware!

Kingsmead Furniture - Kingsize Bed

Ordered a bed from Kingsmead in August, then found this site and felt like I had made a huge mistake from all of the bad publicity and problems everyone was having and the lawsuits, ect., but would see if things might work out. We received it the end of January and am so happy with it and the quality is supurb in every way. Everytime I contacted them, they responded immediately and the delivery men came all the way to Scotland (with us being the only delivery here)and got here at 2 in the morning and slept outside. (which we would have been happy to wait up) I would highly recommend Kingsmead Furniture to anyone and am a VERY satisfied customer. Good customer service and great quality furniture!

Still Waiting

Waiting for a bed from Kingsmead Ltd...PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE they're liars...5 months 2 months overdue...we were told it's stuck in India, we were told..it's on it's way...we were told it's in the Airport....we were told it's in the warehouse...all the time lying ...no one knows where the bed is...we ordered it on ebay...cost 1,040 pounds...beautiful morrocon carved bed.

After reading many BAD reviews..we wrote to Watchdog...just as people have before.....This Has to stop...people are getting ripped of left right & centre....We feel ill because of this...we have been married 18 months, decorated our new flat..all with Chandaliers..BUT NO BED!!...do not buy from Kingsmead...x

i waited 7 months, was told story after story. then finally was told there was no bed and they could not get me one.i have managed to get a refund thogh. would not recoment to anyone

I just felt I had to comment on the guests response to the review - at last a response by someone at Kingsmead??

Firstly I bought a bed from them via Ebay and I was ripped off - the bed was not as described etc and I could not get a refund, replacement or any comment from them at all. Trading Standards are fully aware of them and seem powerless to stop them - and you wonder why there are so many bad reviews - rubbish service and very long delays, I myself was waiting for 6 months after being promised 12 weeks. I then can get no response from the totally useless manager who refuses to deal with his customers.

So this is not a 'faceless comment' and I stand by ever word none of which is libellous - for that to be the case it would have to be untrue. AVOID KINGSMEAD AT ALL COSTS

2. We do not sell Morrocon style beds...

3. We do not ship by air...

4. We do not lose customers orders and know where all orders are...

5. Bespoke furniture takes at least 20 weeks to make...

6. Nobody has ever been ripped off...

7. These types of faceless comments are not constructive as they can be given by people who have never even bought anything...

8. Just like the Hotels on Trip Advisor there should be some way to monitor these types of libellous comments...

Atrocious Service - Non-existant - Don't Buy!

I should say first that my partner and I both work in retail, myself in management and realise things can go wrong. howewver our experience with Kingsmead Furniture beggars belief - they are nothing short of apalling and to be avoided at all costs. We ordered our bed in January, after scraping together the money for a bed over a number of months. It has arrived finally today (9 months later)with misaligned screws, wrong finish, no instructions for assembling, rusty bolts.... I have phoned constantly over the last 9 months to find out what the hell is going on with our order, only to be fobbed off repeatedly. There is no communication from them whatsoever, they treat their customers with contempt. The ladies in the office are nice enough, but you can never speak to a manager/supervisor. First our bed supposedly got stuck in customs for 3 months due to the number of crates they were processing. It then arrived damaged at their warehouse. I was told they would email photos of the damage so that we could decide whether to get a refund, accept a discount or re-order. No photos, no calls in response to me repeatedly chasing it - 4 weeks later I finally got to speak to someone again. They went to the mysterious 'supervisor', I couldn't speak to them - and was told that actually the bed had been completely broken in transit and they had re-ordered it. We were given no option to cancel (after waiting over 6 months at this point), no communication, as has been the case from start to finish. We've been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for 9 months as this wasn't replacing an old bed. When my partner phoned this week to ask what the hell was going on, he was told that his manner was short and rude, despite the fact that he wasn't being listened to and and was given the old 'it's your partner's name on the order, I can only talk to her' line. When I then phoned, I was told that 2 people have just left their office and now this lady is picking up the pieces literally! We were promised compensation for the inconvenience/abyssmal service, yet now they are trying to duck out of this, even though it's apparently recorded on our file. I have only described a fraction of what we've experienced at the hands of Kingsmead Furniture, but I'm now sick of talking about them. We were told we'd get compensation, yet after being assured on Tuesday that I would be phoned with details of this (yes had to chase this too), I have not had a call. I am now going to Trading Standards and talking to a solicitor. Whatever you do, don't order from them, it's a massive con, I wouldn't want anyone else to experience the stress we've been through.

We are also in the process of taking our case further, and have opened a case with trading standards. I have had my email address blocked by Kingsmead, and have had no acknowledgment of receipt of written correspondence, regardless of which address I had sent it to. I have even visited the warehouse. I have given them until close of business tomorrow to respond, after which I will be speaking with a solicitor on Monday morning.

I URGE ANY PROSPECTIVE PURCHASER TO TAKE THEIR CUSTOM ELSEWHERE. The furniture is, pretty.... if you can get it, but that's it. There is no other positive to be found through any dealings with this 'company'. Take your money elsewhere and save yourself the trauma and stress. And quite possibly the bad back too, as you will doubtless end up sleeping on the floor at some point!!

The Worst People I Have Ever Dealt With...

Kingsmead furniture aka Furniture of Distinction are perhaps the worst company i have ever had the misfortunate to deal with.

You can expect late delivery, excuse after excuse, down right rude and unprofessional communication and the sales and service lady to shout down the phone that she doesn't know when you can expect delivery, even if it is 10 weeks after the agreed date.

Recommended? Errrr only if you have are a narcissist and want to be truly irritated whilst dealing with a bunch of monkeys.

How has this company survived I wonder...really it shouldn't be allowed to operate with such lax standards and unprofessionalism. Truly disappointed

Kingsmead Furniture Beds

I ordered a bed from Kingsmead in January. After countless telephone calls, and numerous excuses from Kingsmead about problems with suppliers and deliveries, I eventually received, in mid October, the correct size bed from Kingsmead. It was not the correct finish, but the bed so far appears to be a good quality. I cannot understand why the company insists on treating its customers so appallingly. Just let everyone know that orders take 10 months, not 4 when the order is placed. Or is something else going on? They seem to be selling a lot of beds on ebay ................ I would recommend that the owners go into a different business which doesn't involve supplying goods to people, or retire, and save their staff all the stress.

Kingsmead Furniture/beds4beds/furniture Of Distinction!!!

I purchased a super king Rococco bed from Kingsmead in March 2011, paid cash and collected it myself. All fine. Got the bed home, had a slight struggle getting it put together, as nothing fitted perfectly and most of the screws and fixings were loose or slightly mis aligned, and didn't seem to tighten properly But after sleeping on a mattress on the floor for nearly 2 years it seemed a minor inconvenience! And I got it assembled after much adjusting and tightening. A real bed at last!

3 months later it collapsed..... Its obviously a manufacturing fault, I've taken photos, I've had people to look at it, I've contacted Trading Standards.... its a dud bed!

I've spent almost 3 months now, emailing, phoning, (which I will continue to do daily even though they have blocked my email address!!) writing and sending recorded delivery letters, all to no avail. The last comments from KIngsmead.... this looks like it's been caused by someone picking it up and throwing it at a wall...... come on Kingsmead!!! It's a 6 foot timber bed frame, with a 6 foot wide 12 inch deep memory foam mattress.... If you have one employee who could pick up the frame alone never mind throw it at a wall then I'd concede. But you don't, because it's impossible and your excuses are inexplicable and poor. Give me my money back or I will sit outside your premises daily with my big "Kingsmead are the pits" placard until the courts decide for you. You can keep dissolving and reopening with a new name, but you can't keep moving premises!!!

YOU WILL GET A BETTER NIGHTS SLEEP ON THE FLOOR THAN YOU EVER WILL ON A KINGSMEAD BED!!!!
