Kaymed Airnest Elation Bed - Super King
(20th Aug 2015) Kaymed Airnest Elation Bed - Super King:
We have had this luxury bed for around 30 months now, at a cost of £1800 to start with it was as very comfortable and gave a very good nights sleep experience.
However, over the months both sides where we lay started to sag (memory foam losing its memory?) , we have 2 dips now ranging from 2.2 cm's to 2.6 cm's (myself and husband respectively), this is now making a good night's sleep almost impossible, it's very difficult to move in it, due to the memory foam, ( It now remembers your last sleep position and stays that way. Since natural sleep as we know usually consists of movement, this is not happening in this bed now. The expert felt this was the purpose of this bed), although everyone else I speak to who has a memory foam topper, does not have this issue. If a good night's sleep is the purpose of a bed, then this one is not fit for purpose although it is well within the guarantee period, so be very careful if you are thinking of purchasing one however if you are happy to remain in a single position mould, this could work for you.
We have contacted Kaymed via our supplier, who did send an independent expert to check it over, but Kaymed guidance (according to the expert) said it needs to have sunk by 3cms (or more)to be an issue that they will feel worthy to resolve.
I guess over the next few months this will be reached, but they are not prepared to do anything at the moment. The FIRA expert (Bed Technician) who visited, did say (in his opinion) "he" would not have purchased a mattress that can't be turned, as this can lead to issues. He highlighted that this type of problem seems to be more of an an issue with "Super King" size beds - although we travel annually to Las Vegas and stay in the top 5 star hotels and their Super King's have been wonderful. He suggested we turn the mattress and put a memory foam topper on it, which we had previously purchased to try and help this increasingly uncomfortable bed.
It was also interesting to note that while we highlighted that it was difficult to move out of the "moulded/sagging position" that the foam seems to have memorised in this relatively short space of time the report sent to us and copied to our supplier turned our observation around and said that the problem ridge in the middle of the Mattress was due to us not moving to sleep on it - catch 22. I invited the Bed Tech at the time of his visit to have a go himself at trying any position he wished himself to illustrate the difficulty we have which he declined - as the amount of sag is much greater when you actually try to sleep in it.
Anyone who has a bed like this will know you can't turn it (fully over), although I will give anything a go, to ease my aches and pains that have developed as the mattress gets worse.
