I have bought quite a few beds online over the last few years and the quality of service between retailers is variable to say the least. This time I was just looking to replace a divan bed base for my kingsize bed. Most companies do not seem to sell the base part only unless you want a bed frame or bedstead but I did not want this.

I found the company divanbases.co.uk on Google and promptly gave them a call.

Refreshingly, the staff seemed extremely knowledgeable about every product I enquired about, right down to specific questions on fabric type and the castors wheels and headboard fixings. Satisfied I then ordered a 5ft kingsize 2 drawer divan base for delivery on the following Sunday.... yes a Sunday... I was not charged any extra for this service as it turns out that rather than using overnight freight companies to deliver they use their own vans (in my area anyway) so they explained that Sunday delivery was possible free of charge! Bonus!!.

The bed base duly arrived at about 3pm on the Sunday (driver phoned me at about 2pm to give me an ETA). The base was well packed and exactly as described and as pictured on the website (another refreshing change from many online retailers in my experience).

I had paid a very reasonable £29 to have the old bed base taken away which the driver duly loaded onto his van without complaint and went on his way (his van had quite a few beds on it so Sunday seems to be a busy delivery day for them).

I am very pleased with the bed base, the drawers are nice and sturdy and the bed seems very well made and finished with a decent fabric, the castor wheels are also a huge improvement on my old one.

Excellebnt service from start to finish. Highly recommended
