Gainsborough Stanza 8.5 Shower

I bought the Stanza 8.5 on their website with them saying it "Can be fitted very easily and quickly". When I came to getting a family friend to come and fit it he said we couldn't fit it because it doesn't have a back plate for the shower to attach to the wall and the only way we would be able to fit it is if we had tiles- which we don't. When we rang customer services they say they don't provide them with a back plate- so how are we going to fit it? They said they would give us a refund but we would have to post it ourselves £14.12. This is absolutely terrible, Not only have they not given enough detail on the required specification needed to fit the shower but it also means we are out of loss for post & Package and they are unwilling to refund it.

Never getting a shower from Gainsborough again and I don't recommend anyone else to do the same.

I bought the Gainsborough Stanza 8.5 shower to replace an old Gainsborough shower that had been fine. The electrician who fitted it said it was the worst shower he'd seen regarding quality and predicted I'd have a lot of trouble with it. A few weeks after fitting, water started leaking from where the hose attaches to the box. Gainsborough said that at some point the hose must have been kinked or a hand been partially over the shower head, restricting the water flow and now I needed to buy a replacement pressure relief valve. Looks like I might need to buy quite a few of these over the next few years. Strange, but it's never happened with any other showers we've had, and friends haven't had this problem with theirs. If I'd known about the problem I would have bought another make. Anyway I definitely won't be buying another Gainsborough shower.
