We purchased our bungalow 18months ago and thought it felt colder than perhaps it should have been, given that there were clear signs that cavity insulation had been installed some years previously.

I sent a letter and photos to CIGA and purchased a copy of the guarantee (that had not been available at the time of our house purchase). CIGA referred me to the Warmer Group and we subsequently received a visit from the MD of the company.

He was able to confirm that there was justifiable cause of concern with the original installation in 2008 and with no quibbles arranged for a team to return to the property to redrill and refill the cavities. The work was carried out efficiently and conscientiously by two polite and helpful operatives, who cleaned up after themselves. I don't know what went wrong with the first installation, but have nothing but praised for the way the remedial work was assessed, organised and executed.

Initial survey went well and quickly and came out with a reasonable price.

Unfortunately the installation was for 2 weeks later due to the installers being busy. On the day we chased them up as nobody arrived and head office told us that as our job would take the full 3 hours they did not have enough time so we arranged for them to come the following morning. They arrived at 8 am ready and willing to start. This being an old house the just managed with their short ladder. Installation went well and only took just over an hour. Cleaning up after themselves they even had to clear a blockage in our vacuum cleaner!

I contacted this firm to enquire about cavity wall insulation on my property and the assessor arrived on time, was polite, courteous and very helpful. Most importantly, he was honest and told me that the old bungalow had cavity wall insulation already injected into the walls, probably several years before I bought it, and showed me where the marks were that demonstrated it. He did not try to sell me on any upgrade, change or improvement and I was most grateful for his honesty.

I was so happy with the insulation to my bungalow in Southampton I had to write a review as the ladies in the office were most kindest and helpful. The surveyor was understanding of my situation and took into consideration that I am on benefits, retired. I ended up not paying a penny for the insulation works because of the grant! I was over the mood about this and wrote a letter to the company to thank them.

The men that came were clean and tidy with their work. No mess or dust, even though the surveyor did say there may be a minimal amount of dust which is completely understandable, however, there wasn't a spot of dust left.

There are some very negative views on this site about TheWarmerGroup but I would say they are far worst then even the worse review on this site.

Installed wool in CRI when they shouldn't have in coastal area poor job had to come back twice as not done properly having to re drill walls, insulation coming out of air bricks, had damp and mould since

I had a quote back in Feb for a new boiler, it came out at £3100, not too bad. We ended up having to wait to have this installed until this month so had them come out and requite us. Nothing in the work had changed except the quote was now £5300!!! that's a 75% increase in the last 6 months!!

The staff in the office are rude and extremely unhelpful. The new quote had items on it I didn't even ask for, and when queried, I was advised 'that's the new quote there is nothing we can do'.

Unfortunately, as we were doing the Home Improvement Fund Voucher and our quote was about to expire, we had to use them for Cavity Wall Insulation. I was told I could claim back the £100 cost of the Green Deal Advice Report as it was included in the price of the work. But they don't supply you with an invoice for this so you cant claim it back. When I asked the office to amend my previous invoice for the cavity wall to include this, I was told no and hung up on.

I would avoid this company like the plague unless you like headaches, being hung up on, never being called back and office staff being rude.

Do not use this firm. They will install cavity wall insulation regardless of whether your property is suitable or not. The assessor will not be expert in his survey but operating on a commission led sales basis. When problems arise later they will never admit to any liability and blame it all on your lifestyle, creating your own streaming condensation, damp and mould, by not airing the property enough. Further independent Inspections may show up voids, walls absent of any insulation, and your own research that they have breached conditions of their product certification, codes of practice, contract law etc. Nobody will ever answer to this or admit wrongdoing. They will ignore you completely for long periods and meanwhile try to cover up their tracks with excuses and deception. Avoid like the plague because the 25yr CIGA Guarantee will NOT automatically cover you whereby you will have another enormous fight on your hands, however legally right your case may be. Finally, don't think there will be an ombudsman that you can turn to in your hour of need. The Warmer Group are not obliged to sign up to these services under the Green Deal - so they haven't. I retain proof of all this. Caveat Emptor!
