You Will Pay Twice.

He did some work for me and it was to a terrible and low standard. It was only halfway through the job and after some money had change hands for materials that I realised he was drinking on the job. Constantly late and finishing early he even tried to re-quote the job for damage him and his mate caused and had to fix.

This guy is a total joker and I would avoid at all costs. From the date of his reviews it seems the quality of his work has gone down badly this year.

Avoid At All Costs

Unfortunately I did not see the last review for ben hulme and his guttering. I had a gutter replaced on my rental property at the beginning of Novemeber however it started leaking almost straight away. As he hadn't completed the work as to what i had asked for and offered a 5 year guarantee i called him back to fix. When the rain did come the result was not good. Now after weeks of broken promises of a fix I now need to get the work totally redone and have a bill to come for damp and mold removal where the gutter has catastrophically leaked water down the house. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Reliable And Organised

Thank you so much for the repairs to my roof. What was really pleasing was

you kept me closely informed about your availability and arrived promptly

(early, in fact) when you said you would. The work was done quickly and

efficiently and you even tidied up after yourselves. I have no hesitation in

recommending Ben Hulme.

Full Re Roof

I have just had a full re roof completed by Ben Hulme roofing, and would like to say what a splendid job ben and Terry did. After getting three quotes for the job i decided to go ahead with the most competative price (ben hulme roofing) they did exactly what they said they were going to do keeping a very tidy site and finishing on the deadline. I would like to thank them both for a great job and would highly reccommend this firm to anyone.

Replacement Felt Roof To Garage.

Thought I'd share experience with this company. I'm the sort of fella who moans about bad service and poor quality workmanship so it's only fair to say when you get a good job done.

From start to finish my experience with the Ben Hulme Company was first class.

They came when they said they would. Explained what was needed, how much it would cost and stuck to the quotation.

The job itself [re-roofing a big garage] was excellent. They kept everything tidy, the quality of the job was first class and the finish was impressive.

I felt I got good value for money.

I would recommend them to anyone.

I'm happy to expand on these comments if anyone would like further info. All the best with your roofing job

Avoid At All Costs Unless You Want To Pay Twice!!

We needed our old gutters replacing as they were old, rusting through and leaking. So, I submitted the job on ratedpeople and Ben got in touch. He had 1 positive review (no negative) so figured he was new to the site and decided to give him a try. Big mistake.

He called round, gave me a quote and came back the following week to do the job. He spent about 3 or 4 hours replacing the gutters and painting the drainpipe. On first impressions it looked OK, so I paid him £280 in cash but it didn't actually rain until the following week.

When it did rain, the front of the house became a waterfall - The gutters didn't drain properly and just overflowed down the front of the house (inc upstairs and downstairs windows). I called Ben and told him the problems, he said he'd come back to sort it the following week (we arranged a date and time).

He didn't turn up, and didn't answer his phone. It was only when I called from another number that he picked up, and apologised for being unable to come round because of another job he had on.

About a week later he did turn up, and spent about an hour on the gutters, he told me a screw had come loose which caused the gutters to overflow.

The next time it rained, the same thing happened. I decided to get a professional opinion from another roofer (one recommended by a family member) who took a look at the work done and was shocked at the poor quality of it. Not only had he screwed directly through the gutter to fix it in place, only 3 screws were holding the whole thing up (and no fascia brackets at all!!)

The gutters weren't level and were buckling under the weight of water due to the lack of brackets.

Have since had to pay an additional £350 to get the job done properly by a professional (thanks Mick!!). Ben calls himself a professional roofer, but seems to have serious problems with something as simple as replacing gutters.

Avoid at all costs, unless you want to pay twice.
