My elderly (86 years old ) mother had a gas leak and was told to call Accolade out to look. They diagnosed the problem and capped off the gas but could do the job as she had a box that had to be removed for them to access the gas hob - which as a building company you would expect them to be able to do. They didn't come back when promised so she spent 5 days without a hob to cook any food on. When they eventually came back they laid the new pipes and all was well, until she received the bill which was almost £800. She has a very tiny bungalow and the leak was in the entrance near to the tiny kitchen. Obviously distraught she sought advice from her local plumber (who unfortunately was on holiday when she had the leak). We couldn't dispute the number of hours they charged as she had signed the paperwork but was can dispute the materials. We have now had two tradespeople round who say she has been overcharged by at least £100. We tried to get a breakdown of materials used on the job and although they supplied itemised bills, no measurements were included. However when we asked for more information we keep getting someone else's job sheet and not hers! Also there is nothing written from the tradesman who did the work for us to see. She can just afford £500 which she has paid, but can't afford anymore and I therefore want to advise anyone looking for a tradesperson to do similar jobs in the Ringwood/Bournemouth/Poole area to avoid this company.
