Glossy Lies And Obfuscation At Its Best

If one were to compile a list of experiences best avoided, engaging the services of Touchstone Lofts would, I daresay, sit comfortably near the top. It begins, as all cautionary tales do, with a bold claim: “Thousands of lofts converted.” A claim so grandiose, so gleaming with promise, that one might imagine a veritable army of industrious workers transforming dusty attics into palatial havens. Alas, this opening gambit is but the first of many deceptions in their arsenal. Should you, in a moment of optimism or folly, proceed to sign their astoundingly one-sided contract, you may find yourself navigating clauses so audacious they could be mistaken for satire. For instance, there’s the rather charming requirement to part with £5,000 and secure a court order simply to extricate yourself from the unenviable position of leaving a negative review. It’s a clause so Orwellian, one wonders if it wasn’t penned under the flickering light of a Ministry of Truth office. Touchstone Lofts presents itself as a beacon of transformation, yet behind the glossy façade lies a masterclass in obfuscation and the cynical manipulation of trust. Consider yourself warned: sometimes, what appears to be a stairway to heaven is merely a ladder to litigation.

Stressful And Deceitful

Avoid Touchstone Lofts at All Costs

Dealing with Touchstone Lofts has been an absolute nightmare. This company, led by the greedy and unscrupulous individual running it, is a complete sham. The owner has no respect for customers, is consistently rude, and seems to operate on a basis of lies and manipulation.

To make matters worse, they don’t even comply with basic legal requirements like GDPR. They’ve outright ignored my requests for my data, which is not only unethical but illegal. The owner also has a disturbing habit of stalking clients—if you dare to speak up, expect threatening behavior in return.

They demand cash payments, which raises huge red flags, and there are serious HMRC tax issues tied to their operations. It's clear that they have no intention of being transparent or honest. Their architect, is complicit in their schemes and seems to manipulate reviews to keep their shady reputation afloat. Just search for his name and you’ll see the suspicious activity for yourself.

Touchstone Lofts is not just unprofessional—they’re predatory. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial loss. Stay far away from this company!

Disgraceful

Let me tell you, I’ve had the distinct displeasure of dealing with the owner of Touchstone Lofts (who’s apparently so touchy he’s managed to get this review flagged and removed once already), and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I can’t begin to express just how appalled I am at the sheer gall of the man. Overcharging for services? Oh yes, that’s only the beginning of it. The quality of the work? Dreadful. Utterly dreadful.Right from the start, it was painfully obvious that this chap wasn’t the least bit concerned with customer satisfaction. No, no, he was far more interested in lining his pockets. He quoted me an absurdly high price, all while going on about how it was because of the "top-tier" materials they use. What a load of rubbish! I later discovered these so-called high-quality materials were nothing but cheap rubbish – barely fit for purpose! And as if that weren’t enough, the behaviour of the owner and his team was nothing short of disgraceful. They couldn’t be bothered to turn up on time, and when they did finally grace me with their presence, they spent more time lounging about, taking breaks as if they were on holiday, rather than getting any actual work done. The place was left in an absolute state, filthy and chaotic. It became increasingly clear that their plan was to drag this project out as long as humanly possible, squeezing every last penny out of me. And to top it all off, they didn’t even bother to clean up after themselves! The final result? What an absolute joke! Shoddy workmanship all around – flaws everywhere you looked, corners cut at every opportunity, and not an ounce of pride in their work. When I dared to point out the appalling quality, the owner, in all his arrogance, had the nerve to dismiss my concerns outright, refusing to take responsibility for his horrendous work.In summary, I wouldn’t wish this company on my worst enemy. Touchstone Lofts and its owner are the epitome of unprofessionalism, overcharging for abysmal work, and then having the cheek to act like they’ve done you a favour. If you’re looking for a reputable loft conversion company, steer clear. Far, far away. And here’s the icing on the cake – of course, my honest, factual review gets flagged and removed. Why? Because it dares to contradict their sea of fake five-star reviews. Yes, FAKE, because none of them are verified. Bought and paid for, no doubt. Well, here’s some advice for you, Touchstone: get a life, and stop silencing people who speak the truth!

What A Joke

The company is an absolute joke. They should rebrand again as bodge it and scarper! One of my new VELUX windows has never opened with several casements now letting in significant draughts. Their after care is appalling. All smiles and happy to explain but once you've paid, buyer beware. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Suggest you read reviews on other sites before gambling with this company.

Touchstone Lofts Lack Everything You Require In A Company

I recently had a highly unpleasant experience with Touchstone Lofts, and I feel compelled to share my negative review. From the very beginning, this company demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and integrity.

Firstly, I found that Touchstone Lofts was deceitful in their communication. They made numerous promises during our initial consultation, assuring me that the loft conversion would be completed within three months. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a complete fabrication, as the project stretched on for a staggering 15 months. It quickly became evident that they had no intention of honoring their own timeline.

Moreover, Touchstone Lofts proved to be utterly unresponsive to my attempts at communication. Throughout the entire process, I struggled to get a response to my calls and emails. It was as if they had no interest in addressing my concerns or providing updates on the progress of the project. Their lack of communication left me feeling frustrated and neglected as a customer.

What was particularly alarming was the company's eagerness to take my money while simultaneously avoiding any form of accountability. They swiftly collected the required payment, but failed to deliver results. It seemed clear that their main priority was to acquire funds rather than fulfilling their obligations to their clients.

Excuses became a common occurrence when dealing with Touchstone Lofts. Every time I inquired about the delay or expressed my dissatisfaction, they had a seemingly endless list of excuses at the ready. These excuses only contributed to the overall feeling of dishonesty that permeated our entire interaction.

In summation, my experience with Touchstone Lofts was abysmal. Their dishonesty, lack of communication, and disregard for their clients' satisfaction left a sour taste in my mouth. I strongly recommend avoiding this company if you value transparency, timeliness, and professionalism in your loft conversion project.

Something Fishy Going On

I had a awful experience with Touchstone Lofts. They spent more time manipulating reviews and covering up their shady practices than actually doing the work they were paid for. When police showed up to question him about his team, it was clear that something fishy was going on.On top of all that, I found out that HMRC are currently investigating him and his company for tax "issues" - interesting to say the least! But it's incredibly concerning to think that this company may not even be operating within the bounds of the law. Avoid Touchstone Lofts - there are plenty of reputable companies out there who will actually get the job done properly.

Vile, Just Vile

I recently had the misfortune of engaging with Touchstone Lofts for a loft conversion project, and my experience with them has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Their seemingly impressive 5 star Trustpilot reviews, upon closer inspection, reek of deceit and manipulation, making it clear that Touchstone Lofts cannot be trusted.

One glance at their Trustpilot page reveals a startling pattern. Clicking on the word "verified" exposes the truth behind their so-called 'positive' reviews. It becomes evident that the company itself has written the majority of these glowing reviews, attempting to create an artificially positive image, they all appear to promote the company but with no actual detail of any work done. They even have one from someone in Romania (RO), even though the company itself is UK based, so I can only conclude it was an incentivised employee who wrote it.

Furthermore, it is disheartening to discover that Touchstone Lofts has actively flagged all the negative one-star reviews, further suppressing the voices of dissatisfied customers. This practice of cherry-picking reviews only reinforces their lack of transparency and genuine customer care.

It is worth noting that all the five-star ratings are conveniently labelled as "invited" reviews, undermining their credibility. These invited reviews only serve to perpetuate Touchstone Loft's efforts to manipulate their reputation, rather than portray genuine customer satisfaction.

Despite the evidence of these deceptive tactics, I am certain that this review, like many others, will eventually be flagged and buried by the company. Touchstone Lofts clearly does not welcome honest feedback and is determined to maintain their false positive image at any cost.

My personal experience with Touchstone Lofts was a nightmare from day one. The project was riddled with delays, lack of communication, and poor workmanship. Any attempt to address these issues was met with dismissive responses and inadequate solutions, especially by Paul, and occasionally Mantas. It became evident that the company prioritises profit over any customer satisfaction.

I strongly advise anyone considering Touchstone Lofts for their loft conversion to proceed with extreme caution. Do not be swayed by their facade of positive reviews, as they are merely a smokescreen to hide their true nature. Save yourself the time, money, and unnecessary stress by opting for a more reputable and trustworthy company.

Touchstone Lofts' deceptive practices and manipulation of customer reviews have shattered any semblance of trust I had in them. It is disheartening to see a company resort to such underhanded tactics rather than genuinely addressing customer concerns and delivering a quality service.

Distressing Time

I had hoped this company would deliver what they had promised, but this was soon realised that it was not the case when I signed the contract and paid the £7500 deposit. After waiting 18 months for any work to commence, they then increased the original quotation by 20% using Brexit as the excuse, so I asked for my deposit to be refunded, but they refused and threated legal repercussions and lied instead. I wish I had checked Facebook and other media before I signed up with Touchstone Lofts, then I would have been properly informed about the true customer experiences as they seem to significantly differ from the constant suspicious 5* Google reviews the company obviously purchase for their website. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone, unless, of course, you want to experience significant stress, inconvenience combined with huge expense, which what this company appear to be very good and mostly focused on.

A Disappointing Experience With Touchstone Lofts

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Touchstone Lofts, and I must say it was a rather disappointing encounter. Despite their promise of exceptional service and high-quality workmanship, my interactions with this company left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. This review aims to shed light on the numerous issues I encountered throughout my engagement with Touchstone Lofts. Lack of Communication: One of the most glaring shortcomings of Touchstone Lofts was their abysmal communication. Throughout the entire process, it was almost impossible to get a timely response from their team. Emails and phone calls were met with long delays, if any response was received at all. This lack of communication led to unnecessary delays, confusion, and frustration as I was left in the dark about the progress of my loft conversion project. Poor Workmanship: Another major disappointment was the quality of workmanship exhibited by Touchstone Lofts. Despite their promises of delivering superior craftsmanship, the finished product did not live up to expectations. Shoddy construction, uneven finishes, and poorly executed details were all too prevalent. I had to constantly point out errors and request rework, which only prolonged the already-delayed project timeline. It was disheartening to have to settle for subpar work when I had paid a considerable amount hoping for excellence. Unreliable Contractors: The contractors employed by Touchstone Lofts were highly unreliable. They were frequently late or did not show up at all, causing unnecessary disruptions and inconvenience. This lack of professionalism not only impacted the timeline of the project but also resulted in a great deal of frustration and wasted effort on my part. It felt as though my valuable time and money were being disregarded. Poor Customer Service: Lastly, I found the customer service provided by Touchstone Lofts to be disappointing. When issues arose or concerns needed to be addressed, it seemed as though they were not interested in resolving them promptly or ensuring my satisfaction. Instead of listening to my concerns, the owner, and their other representatives often became defensive and dismissive. Consequently, rather than finding a solution together, I was left feeling unheard and unimportant as a customer. Conclusion: Unfortunately, my experience with Touchstone Lofts fell far short of my expectations. Their lack of communication, poor workmanship, unreliable contractors, and unsatisfactory customer service have left me with a major sense of disappointment and frustration. I would strongly advise anyone considering working with Touchstone Lofts to be cautious and explore alternative options. Ultimately, the lack of professionalism and quality exhibited by this company, and in particular the owner, makes it an unreliable choice for any loft conversion project.

Owners' Attitude And Customer Service Stink

I would never recommend Touchstone Lofts to anyone. The owner, has no passion for what he does, and it shows in his dull, lifeless customer contact. When he visited our property in Birmingham he lacked any real emotion or creativity, and just appeared more focused on what extras he could add to the contract. He didn't engage with us and kept asking if "we had money in the bank" (same on his website forms) and instead comes across as aloof and disinterested.

Moreover, his attitude is terrible. He always shows up late, and never takes the time to listen to our concerns with the project, for which there were plenty! I had the unfortunate experience of phoning their "office", and it was a complete disaster, total incompetence, no one appeared to know what was going on.

So I tried to visit the London "office" instead with the hope of speaking to someone in person, but the office doesn’t actually exist despite double checking I had the correct address as advertised on their website. This office was just a front and not branded as Touchstone Lofts, even Google Street view shows this (perhaps I should have checked it before I set off on my journey!).

In short, the owner, is an embarrassment to the building industry and should be avoided at all costs. Save your money and go seek a real builder instead.
