800 Easyfit Pod
Absolutely Fantastic. Wouldn't be without it. No silicone every 2 years, no mould on the grout. Easy clean.
WE even went to Hull to see it before making a purchase. Still looks brand new after 14 years.
Would recommend to anyone and easy to install.
Shocking Customer Service
Could not comment on product as not delivered. Called and spoke to the company but they were very rude and unhelpful. Have demanded a refund.

Expensive Mistake
My husband bought two of these and they are a mistake.
Not only does one shower leaks badly, and despite being taken apart and following manufacturer instructions, still leaks badly.
Also bought a replacement tap valve from Douglas James and found it impossible to fit without a masters degree in tap engineering.
Avoid at all costs.

Non-existent Customer Care, Not Repairable
Already fitted in a new build house and the cartridge on the shower has failed. Douglas James have not responded to requests for guidance. Now looking at buying a concealed shower to fit in cubicle - costs nearly half the cubicles worth. Stick to tiles and don't get a complete unit, especially from a company who ignores it's customers

Absolutely No Support, Couldn't Care Less.
Bought a Easy fit shower pod. Went to install and all went pretty well until came to fit sliding doors, seems the rollers not right size.
Called DJ for advice but told 'we don't make the doors, we never look at the them, you'll just have to look at the instruction'.
I asked 'who I could I talk to? do you have a contact for the door supplier?'
They replied ' no, sorry you'll just gave to look at the instructions'.
A non-caring attitude. I would NEVER use them again. Shame as the pod itself is quite well made.

Dripping Controls
I have a douglas james shower pod which came with the new build house which has developed a dripping tap (or controller). Looked at their website and used their [email protected] email address to ask whether they sold a replacement (or knew of who does) so that I may buy and get a plumber to come and replace it (as it isn't within the warranty period). They just ignored my email. Perhaps they don't have as much faith in their products as they claim. OK whilst it works, poor douglas james support afterwards.
Poor Shower And Customer Service
When ordering the easy fit 1200 the service was poor, product knowledge not good, it would have been nice to know the shower had to be dismantled on delivery. Sales person never returned calls, she only works part time. The shower arrived with the wrong door and wrong profiles. The installation instructions were also poor, I was sent better instructions by email but for a different shower. I was told to dispose of the old door when a replacement arrived! The shower is very heavy when assembled the legs are basically spindles and the rear corner buckled when pushed into place after plumbing was attached. I am still waiting for parts with no acknowledgement.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Fantastic
I had one of these (the 1200 ensuite easifit) in my previous house and it did not disappoint in any way. The previous 2 showers I had both leaked and were difficult to clean. Now I am refurbishing my new home and am installing the same shower in my bathroom. Well worth the money!

Not Leakproof
I was attracted to the idea of a 'leakproof' shower and fitted two of them 5 years ago. However one shower now leaks badly. The problem I believe lies with a design flaw. On reporting it to Douglas James the customer service department has been less than helpful and my emails remain unanswered. In principal a good idea, but does not live up to its advertising.
I wish I'd been able to find a review before I'd bought my unit! Mine also leaks. I also think it's a design fault and think that the water follows the channel at the back of the shower and leaks out at the end as there is nothing to stop it. I also have had no response from emails. I would not recommend them.

Innovative Product- Looks Good And No Grout To Go Mouldy!
I wanted to replace my airing cupboard ( which was sited in main bathroom) with a shower cubicle, but did not want to re-tile and refurbish the whole bathroom which was otherwise in great condition. I also wanted to avoid grout lines on tiles within shower which are always been a problem when the grout perishes/gets mould on etc. Looked at shower panels of various materials but not for me, as they still have joins.
Hit upon this British-made product, far superior quality to some shower pods which are made of inferior grade acrylic (you can tell when you stand in them!) Went to manufacturer in Hull to check out for ourselves. Ordered through my preferred bathroom supplier who told me they had supplied quite a few.
My plumber was dubious but the cubicle arrived and we were both impressed. Installation needs a professional- do not attempt DIY unless you are fully competent- see other less favourable reviews.
The granite effect fits in so well with my bathroom (not only available in white) and this purchase has saved me a considerable amount overall. Other cheaper products are available but you get what you pay for here.
