Easy To Fit But Beware The Height Of Water In Your Cistern.
A nice piece of kit that is easy to fit but one caveat; make sure you get the right height for your cistern. 8” or 9” refers to the height of water in the cistern so don’t do what I did and get a 9” version when you only have 8” of water before it starts flowing out of the original cistern overflow outlet. Without sufficient head of water the flusher doesn't work properly and I had to pump the thing furiously to get it to flush. Changing to an 8” version cured the problem for me and now it works just fine. In hindsight I could have sealed the original cistern overflow (the new flusher has one built in anyway) and raised the water height to nearer 9” but it didn't occur to me until I had fitted the shorter flusher.
Downgraded this to 4 stars only because the instructions don’t make the water height requirement as obvious as it might.
By the way, if you have a close coupled cistern that fits on top of the toilet rather than being remote from it, always change the seal between the cistern and the toilet (known as a ‘doughnut ring or washer) otherwise you risk a leak between the cistern and the toilet on flushing.
