December 2018 Custom Home Design were invited to my home to design a complete makeover of my Bathroom upstairs. I was delighted with the way we discussed ideas and colours etc and I felt very much a part of the design and could actually visualise what it would look like when finished. The work was to take place in February 2019 and also laying tiles (already purchased by myself) in my kitchen which had previously been completed by another Design Company but without new floor covering. A second bedroom was also painted for me.

The workmanship was excellent, the finish was superb, I am totally delighted. The work force were polite, friendly and hardworking throughout and started early in the morning and finished 5.30 every day.... I cannot praise them enough.

I highly recommend Custom Home Design to anyone looking for a high class Design Company because you certainly will not be disappointed.

Had my bathroom done recently, have to say i received a very professional service from start to finish. Excellent customer service from the rep who was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful when offering advice with design. I am a very indecisive person and dont really have a vision but the rep totally took care of it all and designed something i fell in love with. Once the bathroom was fitted, it was done to completion, nothing left uncomplete where id have had to source someone else to finish the job, they took care of it all including the painting.very clean finish. Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you! Kitchen is next on the list... CHD Please come to the rescue!

Fantastic job. We discovered after old bathroom was ripped out that the floorboards were in a bad state. The fitters were very good in sorting this out in the most economical way before doing a marvelous job in updating our bathroom.

Lovely finishing and the handheld thermostatic douchekit is brill.

Would certainly be happy to use again but I think we have now completed the house and got it the way we want it.

Custom Home Design Review

Having decided to refurbish our bathroom and shower room and received a ridiculously expensive quote fom another company we decided to give Custom Home Design a chance to quote. The following is our experience:-

Initial Visit – The initial visit was carried out by two sales representatives/designers. They were well informed about their products, fully took on board our requirements and did not try to hurry us into any decisions. They made useful suggestions and in consultation with Head Office, were very flexible on price.

Survey Visit – This went well but was not what we were expecting. We had thought that we were getting a visit from another designer to help us make detailed choices of the hardware we required taps, toilets, showers etc. What we got was visit from the two fitters allocated to the project. They seemed very vague about what we actually were going to have done. We later found out that this was because the fitters had not been properly briefed. After this visit we did begin to wonder what we had let ourselves in for.

The Installation – The fitters turned up at the agreed time on the agreed date. Both rooms had to be completely gutted before the new furniture/hardware could be fitted. The fitters would have liked to work on both rooms in parallel but they were sympathetic to our request to have one room done at a time so that the other room could remain in use. The work took nine days in all and we cannot praise the fitters highly enough. They kept at it throughout each day only taking a minimal break for lunch. As well as being efficient they were as clean and tidy as the work would allow and made sure that they had a full clear up at the end of each day. We were fully informed of progress each day and the standard of their work was very good.

Floor Laying – We had opted for vinyl flooring in both rooms. This was done by a different fitter and the experience was very different. We were encouraged when the fitter refused to accept/lay some sub-standard vinyl that had been provided. The fitter’s skills were not in doubt as he made a good job of laying the vinyl but there were drawbacks. He managed to get the aerosol glue all over the new furniture which is perhaps inevitable but there was no attempt to clean it off. He also managed to break the new plinth under the wash basin in the shower room when he forced it back on after laying the vinyl. In comparison to the bathroom fitters he came up somewhat short.

Snagging – Inevitably there were one or two issues arising from the installation, including the broken plinth mentioned above. All the issues were dealt with promptly and satisfactorily.

Project Management and Communication – We were surprised that the Project Manager did not visit the project but having said that he stayed in regular touch with us and was quick to resolve any issues.

Rating 8/10

Overall Experience – All in all we were very satisfied with the end results and the competitive price. We would certainly use the Company again should we have further projects in mind.

Superb from start to finish. We cannot emphasise enough the brilliance of the entire team involved in our kitchen project. The fitters begun work and had our old kitchen out and taken away on day 1 with minimal mess. The units arrived the next day and are solid and very well built.

All the internal pipe work was a mess and was all redone as were the electrics. The joiner did a marvellous job ensuring the fit was precise even though we had odd nooks and crannies in parts of the room. The fitters made a point of clearing up at the end of each day. We had daily communication with the project manager, keeping us informed with the progress and the odd complication and how they would overcome it.

We now have a fabulous kitchen and I just can't stop smiling every time I walk into the room. We had a dinner party last weekend and several of our guests have asked if they can have the details of the company we used. Expect some calls Custom Home Design. Thank you

After a disastrous experience with a national kitchen company, we decided we would try someone different for our bathroom.

Thankfully we came across this gem of a company through a work colleague.

The entire team made us feel that they were installing this bathroom in their own home. I can't say I've ever come across a fitting team who were prepared to go that extra mile to the extent that this bunch did.

Fitting did take a day longer than initially stated due to some technical reason to do with our existing pipework but this was resolved without any additional cost to us.

Love my new bathroom and especially my monsoon shower.

Just in Time

A sigh of relief. It was touch and go but this company were supposed to have completed my kitchen by xmas and the final touches were completed on the 19th December.

We ordered on the first week of November

It took 4 weeks for my kitchen to arrive which seems like a long time (I know they make them to order but does it really take that long to build a kitchen).

The fitting was generally handled very well. Few hiccups along the way which the manager dealt with without too much fuss.

The workers were tidy and particular. The walls were not too bad when the old tiles came off so I'm not convinced the plasterer needed to smooth out all the walls. It just delayed the fitters.

The quality is really good though, can't fault that. The finishing was impressive. Even my uncle who is a retired cabinet maker mentioned the quality and he's very fussy.

I'm not giving top marks though, as the company refused to honour the original promotional price they quoted because the promotion expired in October and we missed the deadline by 5 or 6 days. I argued the point but they refused to budge and were prepared to lose us as a customer. Whatever happened to the customer always being right. Beautiful kitchen but need to be less stubborn with price.

I wasn't very serious about getting the kitchen done as the old one really wasn't that old, but luckily decided to have a look at what this outfit could do and I'm so glad I did. The designer was very professional and I soon realised how my old kitchen was very poor in appearance and quality in comparison to what was being offered.

I decided to go ahead and the kitchen was made, delivered and fitted within six weeks. The fitters ensured that the upheaval was kept to a minimum. They seemed hellbent on getting the job done to perfection, exceeding my expectations and left the kitchen surprisingly tidy.

My only regret is that despite the designer offering to do something with the utility room, I chose to leave it as it was and it now looks soooooo knackered. Should have had that done at the same time, but there you go, you live and learn. Will get Custom Home Design in early spring to sort that out as well.

I would like to thank everybody who worked on my kitchen, special thanks to the project manager who bless him, very patiently put up with my OCD list of queries throughout the installation.

This is the 2nd time we have used this company. They have put a kitchen in for us at our last house. Job done very well. Shortly afterwards we moved and I'm sure the new kitchen had a big part in achieving a sale price above the asking price. Thank you very much. The kitchen was okay in our new house but the bathroom was a bit shabby, so we called Custom Home Design in and they have again done a marvelous job. We were happy with the suggestions made by the designer.

The job commenced on the day they said it would and be completed a day before schedule. They were very tidy. We had use of the facilities each night. They communicated well with us at each stage. They even notified us each time they had to switch the water supply on and off and gave us and indication of how long it would be switched off for.

Top quality, top service, top job. In my humble opinion, you certainly do get what you pay for.
