Kitchen Nightmare!

Having been a highly-satisfied COD customer for nearly 40 years, when I began looking for a new kitchen I was delighted to find they offered a wide-selection of makes & designs. The staff were very knowledgeable & helpful, everything being handled smoothly up to the point my new kitchen was delivered to my home. Unfortunately everything when rapidly downhill after that! Several of the kitchen units had been built to the wrong specification; doors were too large/small or didn’t match the rest of the kitchen; key components were missing; a supposedly made-to-measure bespoke worktop didn’t even fit the units it was designed to sit on! COD’s helpfulness soon evaporated as phone calls & emails went unanswered. A letter of complaint to the Managing Director did little to improve matters. Every issue became a battle to the extent that only the commencement of legal action brought about any resolution. Five months after the delivery, issues still remain unresolved. The moral of this story is that being a long-term loyal customer counts for little in this modern world, particularly if that loyalty was given to COD Kitchens!

Very Pleased With The Service

We were looking to spend over £30k on our kitchen and appliances so were very choosy about which company to go with after a bad experience with another kitchen company in the past. We found AKC by chance and went to look at their showroom. They had a wonderful range of kitchens and we particularly liked the Alnostar in satin glass. We were assisted by Shelley who was really helpful, professional and friendly throughout. She took the time to really listen to what we wanted and tried to fit everything we wanted into our budget.

We shopped around as they are one of three Alno kitchen suppliers in the Manchester area. The other quotes we had (from Diane Berry and John Lewis) were more expensive and we also felt that we were being pushed into a sale rather than our needs being listened to. In the end it was a no-brainer. They gave us a good deal and they supply all the appliances through their sister-company COD electrical.

After several delays at our end by our builders, they came on the agreed date and carried out the installation. The fitters worked methodically and professionally and the results are nothing short of breathtaking. We would be delighted if they would like to show any potential new clients our new kitchen.

We had one small snag which arose after a few weeks. After a call to them, they arrived the next morning to carry out the repair. After our last experience, AKC have been like a breath of fresh air. Could not be happier with the product and service.
