Overhyped,overrated, Difficult To Work With

Completed Annie Sloan workshop. Very product centric and no questions going "off-piste" tolerated. In fact I was ignored thereafter. I only wanted to know if the wax could be tinted?! I didn't mention any other brands!

Keen to start first project with this paint. I have many years experience of painting furniture and looking forward to no sanding, stripping etc.

Prepared a softwood kitchen chair. Applied paint, it starting creating bobbles immediately and looked messy when finished. Phoned shop they recommended watering down.

Second attempt pigment density now too low so it would take many, many coats to cover base colour. I ran out of paint... When dry knots in wood started to bleed through (No prep remember). The knots had been stopped and they still bled.

The paint when dry needs to be waxed and if not it comes off like whitewash with any handling. Even whilst trying to wax.

I have since, thank goodness, been directed to another furniture paint brand which not only has over 100 colours but many waxes and different formulas including an outdoor version.

Goes on easily and smoothly, good pigment density and the colour range is absolutely delicious.
