A Very Expensive Waste Of Money
Having had a new central heating boiler fitted and the old fire/back boiler removed we were looking for a replacement stove type fire and like the look of the Dimplex Piermont stove Fire at £565 at a local hardware store.All was well for the first couple of months then the washer on the optymist water container fell apart one was replaced free.Then a few months later the main heater container for the steam stopped working this was replaced under warrenty luck as they cost £135. Now after almost two years two of the four light required for the flame effect stopped working thinking it was the bulbs was ready to order some new ones when I tried swopping them around they worked so it was not the bulbs, contacted Dimplex who where not much help other than give me the part number of the replacement lamp holder more expence.So anyone considering purchasing one of these stove fires don,t buy one of the expensive optymist ones you need filtered water the bulbs cost £18 for 5 ,you need to wash out and clean the misting unit weekly plus this model does,nt have the remote control.The cheaper ones may be ok but not the Optymist units be warned,wish I had been
