Ordered Wrong Size Twice And No Interest In Customer Care

I spoke to yaledoor on the phone when I wanted to order a new front door and side panel and they couldn't be keener or more helpful. A local fitter came and measured the space and helped me through the colour options etc. A couple of weeks later they phoned that they had the door and could come and fit.

Great! I thought...

On the morning of the fitting, they phoned me up to say that the door was the wrong size and had to go back. After much hold music I get to speak to a grumpy person at Yaledoor who said that the fitters had given them the wrong measurements and they'd have to cover the cost of the re-make. TBH, I'm not really interested who'd fault it was (and it turned out it was actually Yaledoor's), I just wanted my door. 1 day of wasted holiday, but these things happen.

2 weeks later...

They have the new door and come to fit it. They remove the old doorstep (a large concrete block) and start to take the frame out. At this point they get the new door out and start getting it ready only to discover that it is again, the wrong size. They have to pack it all away and take it back to order a re-make. Again.

Only this time, there's a foot sized hole under my front door and the thing won't even close because the frame is damaged!!!

Fortunately, I have a sliding door on the font so I can at least stop stray cats from wandering in, but it's not secure.

I take photos and email them to the miss useless at Yaledoor who doesn't even reply.

A day later I email again asking for a response and to know what they're going to do about the situation.

Apparently they have a "no compensation policy"... but have ordered the re-make.

I am currently waiting for this re-make to be made and fitted and will be seeking compensation via other means if they don't decide to change their policy.

I'm sure it all would have been great if they'd ordered the right size door to start with but if you have a problem... Good luck to you!

If I'd done my research properly and read the negative as well as positive reviews, I might have saved myself much stress and anguish. I advise you to do the same and avoid Yaledoor at all costs.

Expectations Almost Met

Barring a simple detail we would have endorsed a five star rating. Purchasing a red door disappointed the end stops to weather bar are black! This is totally out of context with the door as there is no other black on the door or frame. Hinges do not appear to be those depicted in the installation and glazing guide and instructions for the operation of the locks should be explained.

Great Value, Excellent Quality And A First Class Service!

You will definitely not regret buying a Yale composite door. Design your door using the online app; it has a very good choice of door styles, plain, patterned, coloured glazing or a combination. You can see a running total for each choice you make. You can fit yourself or take advantage of their fitting service. You can even pay a small amount to speed up the process. 12 months interest free credit is available. The service is truly excellent and the door looks beautiful. Every bit as lovely as a quality timber door! In fact it has been mistaken for timber! I've recommended Yale to a neighbour. It wouldn't look out of place on the poshest pad! Best buy I've made in years!

I Got 50% Of Money Back Via Courts

This company is nothing like what it appears through their website. After paying them more than £2500 upfront, my doors were installed badly-they were drafty, with loose handles, poor fit etc. After 6 months of endless phone calls, emails, visits and no shows, they finally stopped responding. They have no customer care at all. i took them to Court via small claim to get 50% of my money back and got all of it back. Not recommended at all. please don't waste your time and money

SAME OPINION,--YALE DOORS IS DOOR STOP INTERNATIONAL,--THEY WOULD NOT EVEN CONFIRM THEIR POSTAL ADDRESS WHEN I WANTED TO SEND THEM A COMPLAINT IN THE POST. -- still in dispute after 18months !

---- go elsewhere ---- zero customer service

Door Great Only If You Don’t Need Additional Keys

I have the Yale door that has the Superior Series keys which enforces you to have a pin code to be able to cut replacement keys.  I was unable to find anyone on the high street who was able to cut additional keys.  So went to the recommended online Yale website to order new keys.

1.    Online key cutting very expensive £40 for 3 keys

2.    The keys you eventually receive are not like the ones that come with the door (Yale branded solid metal), instead a ugly cheap plastic key

3.    Delivery is advertised as within 4 weeks, but you will be lucky, mine took over 6 weeks and I had to chase twice

4.    Every time I phoned up customer service to find out where the keys were they promised to phone me back, but customer services could be bothered to phone back

5.    Unsecure, keys are delivered with the combination code allowing for copies to be taken if keys were intercepted

A 6 Month Ordeal Ending In Small Claims Court

The worst company I have ever dealt with.

We ordered a Yaledoor in February and it took until July to complete. Compensation for the damage has still not been recovered.

The first fitter ruined the door he was fitting, our 100 year old skirting board, and broke the doorbell leaving bare live wires on the outside of our house for 3 months.

The door furniture they supplied was all different shades and did not match.

We were left to report all the dates and times we chased Yaledoor and the fitter. We also had to provide the photographs and list of the faults. Yale door took no responsibility. We ended up taking 3 days off work to be available for the various remedial works to be completed.

I’d like to say they were mortified and offered compensation but they said we were due nothing- the fitter said it was Yaledoor, Yaledoor said it was the fitter. Really poor customer service- couldn’t get hold of them, they didn’t call back with they said they would. They said put it in writing and you could tell they never read it. They totally string you along.

If I could have my old creaky door back and a full refund I’d be happy. I’d rather have the hassle of dealing with double glazing salesmen next time! It was like something you’d see on Watchdog!

Amazing Company From Start To Finish!

From the first phone call to the end product, I could not fault Yale/Evander. The customer service was friendly, helpful and professional. The surveyor turned up exactly when expected. When they said they would call....they called! The fitters made an excellent job and our new door looks amazing! A fast, efficient service all the way through and the web site was simple and clear to use.

Keep up the good work...so refreshing to find such a reliable company.

What A Difference A New Door Makes!

It was an easy process to choose my doors on the Yale website; you could try out various colours and designs to see what they looked like before you ordered. I couldn't be happier with what I chose and the doors looked really good after installation. I chose the green composite doors, and the colour is exactly as shown on the website. What a difference they make to the appearance of the house - excellent product all round. Very pleased indeed with the products and service provided.

Unreliable, Faulty Installation, Unresolved After 4 Months!!

After purchasing the door, Evander (subcontracted installer) turned up late (after waiting for them all day). The door frame was apparently distorted during the installation, leaving a gap at the bottom that lets cold air in. After many phone calls and emails from us to Evander and Yale (including formal complaint letter), the issue is not solved. Yale acknowledged that it "sounded like the door needed a spacer". Evander said it was a manufacturing fault(=Yale), Yale said it was to do with the installation (=Evander)! As far as we know, Yale are still waiting for the Engineer's report from Evander before they can action anything (this is 3 months after the engineer came out to do the report on the fault - what a joke!). If you want a composite door, give some thought to getting a Yale one (as you pay in advance,if any problems, don't expect them to be helpful/resolved!). Your local door/window company might be a safer (and cheaper) bet for a composite door. We read about the one-off negative reviews and risked it, wish we hadn't. Not yet able to leave a review on trustpilot (which they show on their website) as haven't been given an Order ID number that would work on trust pilot -You have been warned!

I have now given up on their complaints department responding to my letter sent by recorded delivery.

Full Of Promises They Don't Keep

Ordered two door from Yaledoors. When the door turned up, one was damaged so the fitters suggested it was returned. The other door came with bright white hinges which looked awful on a black door with a cherry frame. I was never told that the hinges would be visable, much less that they would be white. After much chasing up to find the status of my order, I was offered brown hinges this time which would still look awful on cherry/black. To date, I still don't know what is happening with my order even though Yaledoors have had my money for a month. Yaledoors keep promising to call me to give me an update yet they have not phoned me a single time, I have always had to chase them up. Perhaps, my opinion will change if this ever gets resolved but as yet there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
