Dont Touch With A Barge Pole

Having used Modplan for some extensive interior house alterations, we can categorically say we will never ask them back (not even to remedy their existing work). In fact, if they were the last builders on earth, we wouldn't use them again. We got the impression they were very inexperienced, particularly in domestic properties, and overall their standard of work, in our opinion, was very poor.

They were careless too. Several items were damaged, including the patio, a wall and an electrical appliance.

Their price might include some fixtures or fittings, but these will probably be of the absolute lowest quality. Invariably, you'll want to improve on this, which will of course add to the overall cost charged.

Also ensure you understand 'exactly' what you're getting for your money. Loosely worded contracts 'might' imply something is included, but it will almost certainly be excluded. Check with them their meaning of "ready for decoration" and getting this meaning included in the contract. Otherwise it'll be more opportunity for Modplan to add in those little extra tasks that help increase the final bill.

Not being especially cheap, we had hoped Modplan might offer something over and above run-of-the-mill builders, but sadly we were very disappointed.

Now Awaiting An Appointment As Door Panel Has Crac

Now awaiting an appointment as door panel has cracked and although reported to the after sales service number 4 weeks ago and chased by me twice, I am no nearer to knowing when an inspector will call and what Modplan intend to do to rectify it.
