Do not buy from them, poor after sale service partial refund, send money just for doors where pick up doors and tracking , using some stupid excuses

Direct Doors, Harrogate----beware
Received mirror doors after 8 long weeks.Checked doors briefly and signed the delivery form.Two days later when carpenter arrived to fit doors he opened packaging and discovered a crack in glass hidden behind corner cardboard cover. Obviously had been damaged in factory or transit but guess what.....doors direct would not take responsibility.I signed the delivery form saying all ok so therefore I would have to pay! They even suggested that I damaged door despite evidence of dent in cardboard and black scuffs(i left resting on a carpet!!)
Awful way to treat customers. My advice to everyone who purchase from doors direct is to fully inspect the goods on delivery.Open all packaging, check edges and corners and make the driver helps you and make him wait. This is unusual I know but these guys made money off me by passing off damaged goods. They laid a trap door and I fell in.
Don't be fooled by the polite nature of the people I dealt with .There is a ruthless streak.
Either avoid or take extreme caution.
Normally I would ignore this after having got over the disappointment and moved on ....however with this reply I feel Compelled to clarify further....
It still took 8 weeks to deliver....there was one delivery date offered where I could not be there at time as on holiday....so I had to wait double the normal time.
Notified of problem a few days later NOT weeks. Ironic that they even mention this considering it took so long to get to me. Only reason I didn't pick fault up immediately was because damage hidden from view behind cardboard in corner of door.
Yes they offered????that I could buy another door from them!?! Cost price ! .....my cost......Would have cost marginally less than normal price.
Needless to say I declined this OFFER?!!
I have learned to live with my cracked door now. It's a constant reminder that not everyone out there is fair and square. Now I unpack everything completely before the delivery man gets a signature.
Enough said.
I would just like to clarify a few of the above points. doorsdirect guarantees delivery within 30 days and did indeed offer a delivery date within this time scale which was unfortunately inconvenient for this customer and therefore the delivery was re-scheduled for our next delivery run into the area.
It was about 2 weeks after delivery when we were notified of a problem.
A replacement door was offered at cost price.

Doorsdirect Sliding Mirror Doors The Frames Are Ok
Doorsdirect sliding mirror doors the frames are ok but nothing too spectacular the rest is just chipboard and plastic - which you can get anywhere B&Q do them cheaper and you can have a look at a display while you're at it.
Not the sort of thing to be buying from the internet and they come from another factory anyway (or so the delivery man told me). So have a look around I think there's a factory in Batley that churns hem out to order.

The Fittings Supplied Were Of A Poor Quality And T
The fittings supplied were of a poor quality and the product itself is just melamine coated chipboard, overall I would say that the wardrobes are inferior to something that you can buy off the shelf at Ikea.
I have an inkling that this is just some middleman company and the doors are available elsewhere for cheaper.
I have asked for a refund but so far no joy.

While the delivery our door of Doors Direct took longer than 48 hours advertised on www.doorsdirect.co.uk -we do live in Kent, rather a long way to have to deliver so could understand why it should take longer. But as we are very happy with quality, did not mind too much.
doorsdirect does not advertise or offer 48 hour delivery on made to measure products.

The only good thing about Doors Direct is the quality of the wood. However, their customer service is not so good!
I now wish I had bought my doors from somewhere local.
