Some Hard Selling With Ficticious Government Scrap
Some hard selling with ficticious Government Scrappage Scheme discounts, then another 40% discount because of X and another 10% off because of Y... Paid the deposit but then found out
local council (who are freeholders) won't allow me to fit new windows.
Called salesperson - no response. E-mailed sales person - no response. E-mailed the 'contact us' e-mail address supplied on website - faulty address! Made some calls to guys in the office. Order confirmed as being stopped in time and windows not built. Finally hear from one of the directors and after lots of to-ing and fro-ing I have not seen any of my deposit. Won't be able to recommend Cornhill windows & conservatories to anyone.

I Really Wanted To Use Cornhill From Their Glowing
I really wanted to use Cornhill from their glowing reviews but sadly they never even bothered to get back to me. Twice I left messages on their answer machine each time with the promise of a return call but unfortunately I was completely ignored. I'm guessing with their untainted reputation they can afford throw away business.
you were lucky. They went into liquidation leaving a lot of mugs with worthless 10 year guarantees, including me, and the directors carried on running another windows and conservatoty company not a million lite years away.

Regarding Cornhill (Britelight, actually) - the work was carried out quickly and without fuss. The two guys who installed our new windows were helpful, entertaining, good humoured, friendly, knowlegable, tidy, clean and generally 'good workers'.
They travelled from Maidstone each morning and arrived bright & early and waited until the allotted time before they started work.
Each evening, the house was tidied, clered & cleaned so my young daughter could settle in without being disturbed.

Worse: we had 8 windows done ~ one was a complex, 6-pane jobbie. All were really good. But, nearly £20K's worth. So, a guarantee would have been handy, eh?
Yeah, we found this out a while ago; there was an ingress of water on one of the windows. I called and Britlite just didn't recognise the job. I gave up and fixed it myself (a bit of filler).

The guys who didi the work were excellent, though ~ so part of the review stands.
The trouble is that Cornhill went into liquidation and your 10 year guarantee isnt worth the paper its written on. Ask Britlite what lifespan they give their products.
