Thay Have Gone Bust!

Looks like this company went downhill fast. My rating is a reflection of the company going bust rather than a reflection of the standard of work. I checked the reviews on here before booking them and also had recommendations from neighbours. My installation should have been finished on 30th September but it turned out that the window for my downstairs loo was 200mm too big. They fitted a temporary window with bubble wrap in place of obscured glass and were due to fit the proper one on the day they went bust. I am now stuck in limbo but at least I have had the majority of the work done - just hope I don't have any problems with it. Now wish I had gone with Thermaseal even if they were more expensive.

The administrators are writing to clients of Betterview 

If anyone is considering getting work done with any company be sure to pay the deposit by credit card - if the work doesn't get done then the credit card company have to reimburse you!

HI,

Got my work done as they weren't getting paid until the job was finished. The work is covered by a trade warranty -plastic windows and doors federation or something like that - we are currently redecorating and I can't find the paperwork. A certificate should have been issued by Betterview at the time the work was carried out although I am not sure how long it lasts. Some of the Betterview managers opened a new company on the same site in Wickford and one of them assured me they would look after Betterview customers. Might be worth calling in to the office and have a word with them.

I have windows/doors in a flat I've recently bought, that were installed by Betterview... and they are now leaking.

I know it's not your problem, but do you have a number I could use to get hold of someone who will hold up the guarantee?

Betterview Goes Bust

Betterveiw went bust on Friday 5/10/2013. Leaving bills unpaid, owing money and taking customers money but not doing the work

I have recently come to find out that they have declared bankrupcy for the third time now and each time they take customers money and not do the job.

Days before going bust they still had their sales guys going out selling and taking peoples money. I myself paid thousands which I have lost.

Dont use this company whatever you do. They will restart using a slightly different name. Go on companies house and do your research on the various companies that the director has been involved in.

Terrible Customer Service. Avoid At All Costs....

We had a conservatory fitted around 4 years ago and we have now had 2 separate issues that they simply do not want to help resolve even though it is under full guarantee.

I am again about to threaten them with legal action to fix this second issue and expect the same battle as I had the first time. They do not answer calls, the company boss never reply's to phone calls or letters.

I strongly suggest you avoid this company at all cost.

Don't Go There!

Another very unhappy customer. Windows are mysteriously cracking in different places in my conservatory from the inside ( it has been suggested by an advisor that the roof may be too heavy for the structure). Betterview's boss - will not return my calls/e-mails etc to even talk about it. He and his company were lovely up until the conservatory was built, but are not interested now. I have a boarded up frame that Betterview would not pay for. A particular receptionist is very unhelpful and rude and the other cannot help at all. 'he's in (yet another) meeting'. (How many meetings can one attend in a day??). However, they say that if I use my own glaziers that I will annul my 10-year guarantee. I'm in limbo. A disgusting service - and what a coward... Wish I'd known beforehand - I would have used Thermoshield. DON'T GO THERE!

Terrible Customer Service And Workmanship!

I can not describe how bad this company is. After meeting them we were full of excitement about our new conservatory. He was very good and a very likeable chap. He said the office would be in touch to make arrangements as to when the works would start he said it would be within 3 weeks.

After 6 weeks We we're then contacted by a lady who was more interested in talking about herself then sorting our conservatory out. We were given a date for the building work to start and that was adhered to. The building chaps were nice enough and the standard of is ok but I have to be honest it is not what was expected. I would of made them do it again but my wife said not to rock the boat. The guys were always on there phones and always smoking it hasn't left a good impression.

Then came another 6 week wait. I called for updates and got passed from pillow to post. The ever chatty lady couldn't tell me anything apart from the hospital treatment she was having. I was referred to a chap who couldn't give me any information as he said she did the booking in of work. I spoke to a man and he said that she did all the booking of work.

Now my conservatory has been completed I can honestly say it has been a waste of money. The quality is terrible and the service is even worse. Do not use this company.

Good Service, And Helpful

After having quite a few different companies round we decided to us Betterview.

The Sales consultant was very Knowledgeable and pointed out that we would require piling for our conservatory, He was the only one who pointed this out and gave us the quotation for the conservatory including the piling on the night.

We had problems receiving the quotations from the other companies in regards to the piling. And lost confidence in some of there claims as to completing the works in house.

We also liked the fact that every member of staff were in sign written vans and all had company branded attire. All the staff were very polite and helpful.

I would recommend Betterview, We will be using them to do our paving in the coming months.

We have our own piling rigs and work closely with the local authorities.

Very Good Work

We had our doubts to start with after reading some of the reviews, but friends of ours recommended Betterview (Essex). We are very pleased from start to finish, the builders all worked extremely well, even though it was raining, and they were all very pleasant, cheerful and turned up on time and only left when they had finished for the day, after clearing up. We had a few queries, and they came back and sorted them out straight away. Sue, in the office, was also very helpful and answered any questions, etc.

We are now enjoying sitting in our lovely, light and airy conservatory looking at our garden...... Wonderful!!

Buyers Beware

Having used this company for all our door/window replacements on our previous home, and having recommended them to many other people, we wanted to use them again. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE. Since being rebranded as Betterview…(Kent), after apparently being placed in administration, they no longer appear to be concerned about customer satisfaction. We wanted all windows and doors replaced on our new home. Betterview unfortunately could not meet our requirements on one of the doors so we wished to cancel this one order but we would have continued with additional orders. As they took so long to confirm this requirement we were out of our 7 day cancellation period and they have ignored all calls and letters to refund the deposit. They have now lost out on several thousand pounds worth of work as we decided to take the rest of our orders elsewhere (thankfully we had not signed up for these). Potential buyers should ensure that any queries are resolved within 7 days of placing your order. If not make sure you cancel in writing.

Excellent Is The Only Word I Can Use. L

Excellent is the only word I can use.

Looked at 4 different companies. Chose Betterview, they were not the cheapest , nor the dearest, but have certainley turned out to be the best.

From start to finish all the workman have been punctual, polite, clean and tidy, quiet, respectful of our property, and very professional.

The office staff are helpful in every respect. All of our questions were answered and they even gave us suggestions on finished flooring and furniture.

The whole experience has been painless and faultless.

We have no hesitation in recommending Betterview.

Had A Conservatory By Betterview As We Had Had Win

Had a conservatory by betterview as we had had windows fitted a few years earlier and were very pleased from start to finish (no pushy sales). The whole process was very easy from start to finish and the workmen were friendly and tidy. All in all extremely pleased and would highly recommend them, in fact my mother is having her windows fitted next week by betterview. Thanks again for a great job.
