I would start by saying that what I'm reviewing here is not their quality of work or the quality of the units they use as I honestly don't know what that is like. What I'm reviewing is their initial point of contact service and company ethic.

To qualify my opinion, I'm a director of a Management Company of a small block of flats, run a letting agency incorporating property maintenance services and also own a number of residential properties. On behalf of the Management Company I had to get three quotes in for some required work replacing a door and window in a communal area of the block (job price estimate about £1k). Called three companies including Best Quality Windows Ltd. in Plymouth to price for the job but a week after arranging for one of their reps to come out and price, they called an hour before the appointment to decline to quote due to apparently 'heavy work load' and therefore the job is too small for them. They just wanted to be 'honest'.

One school of thought would be that they were polite enough to call before the appointment to say that they can't be bothered to do it.

From my perspective this myopic decision to decline to quote after having made the appointment to come and price for it is frankly rude and has wasted my time. They could have said they were too busy when I initially called to ask them to price for the job. I now have to make another appointment with yet another firm to ask them to price for it to hit my required target of three quotes, which has set me back a week. From yet another perspective I also now know that Best Price Windows Ltd. Plymouth are not interested in the smaller jobs, only the big stuff for them please! Despite the well known ethic that big jobs can grow from small jobs, Best Quality Windows Ltd. have an 'alternative' outlook to business generation.

Without blowing my own trumpet, I would suggest that given my position work wise that there is a significant chance that larger double glazing requirements will be in my future, but not only that, again given my job I come into contact with many people who look to have double glazing work carried out. I'll now be sure to go out of my way to not recommend Best Quality Windows Ltd. in Plymouth due to poor service.

Again to clarify, I'm not making any judgements on their quality if windows or quality of fit as I never got that far, I'm just stating my opinion of the short sighted service I received.
