Robomow Automatic Robotic Lawn Mower

Great mower, saves me lots of time. Had it for 18 months, and other than problems at the start which was fixed under guarantee, it has been superb.

I treat it very carefully, making absolutely sure the grass is clear of major debris before most mornings. Mine is the smaller version with one motor, and my garden is just at the maximum size so it has to work very hard to keep it under control, especially in the early summer.

I have found the grass to be in a much better condition this year as it gets cut so regularly and so little is taken off.

It is expensive to buy, and also takes quite a lot of time to set up correctly, with occasional wire breaks an issue until it was well bedded down.

I realise I will have to buy new batteries in a couple of years, but hope things go smoothly until then. It probably saves me more than two or three hours every single week of the summer.

Mine worked fine for four years, then everything went wrong, and when it's fixed, something else goes wrong - so I guess the life of a Robomow is about four years - not long for such an expensive item. Failed batteries (to be expected after four years so that's ok), Failed drive gearbox, failed drive motors-both worn out, failed cutter motor - new one cost a fortune, rear drive wheels starting to loose grip due to tread wear, jamming front caster swivels, and worse of all, it's starting not to see the perimeter wire, so it drives off the lawn and in to the flower beds or the gravel drive - dangerous.

This is a great mower. I've got one myself and it is fantastic. I can now get on with the more important things while it dose the job of cutting the grass for me. It saves me time and energy. Plus it is cheap to run.
