Ten Years And Still Going

I bought my PWRSP469PRMA from B&Q in 2004. It has started first time every time and I have had none of the problems mentioned in the other reviews. Last year I had to replace the carburettor diaphragm (£5 from our local mower shop) and I have just replaced the lower section of the handle but that was my fault, lifting it when the grass box was full. It's beginning to show its age with thw wheels becoming worn and rust forming around the edges but it still cuts my lawns beautifully and that's what I bought it for.

I seem to remember the mower costing me about £100 as it was in the end of summer sale. I consider it money we'll spent.

B&q Not Lawnmower Fault

I have had one for over 4 years no problems so far cuts great, starts great it's a top quality mower the problem is B&q customer service. as any mower parts can go any time. the engine is built by wolf tools who make them for Argos, b&q, homebase, machine mart, wicks, aldi, liddel, tescos, and no complaints any where about the exact same machine, must be the fact that they have a different sticker on the mower base. Come on B&q sort it out.

The Recoil Starter Cord On My Performance Pro Pwrs

The recoil starter cord on my Performance Pro PWRSP460PRMA B+Q lawnmower broke last weekend followed by the spring when I disassembled the unit ,and the first thing I see on the Web are these bad reviews based on lack of spares. I agree the spares situation is bad if you look for "Performance Pro" but I found that the Honda "GX120,GX160 & GX200" range is the same for recoil spring and StarterHandle+cord. Go to www.mister-solutions.co.uk and get the "non genuine" Honda spring and handle-cum-cord for just over a fiver delivered by 1st class post. Be sure to note position of all parts when you disassemble particularly the large washer and small butterfly-wings of starter-cam. It is easy if you are practically-minded!Just beware that spring uncoiling in your face !

Solenttools is a very good firm that carries every spare you would probably need for this mower. I have had one forages and have bought from Solent Tools. Well worth a look. Don't bother with B&Q service.

Performance Pro Mower Good Generally But Recoil Me

Performance Pro mower good generally but recoil mechanism failed and B&Q don't stand by spares, 18 months old, had failed during warranty , they took one off a machine in the shop. Agree with previous comments B&Q customer care useless!

I Have The Self-propelled Version Of Performance

I have the self-propelled version of Performance Pro and when it works, it's perfectly fine.

However, I've had the same problem as other reviewers where the pull cord broke off. After a considerable amount of effort, I managed to replace it. A few months later...mower is completely dead. Fuel and oil were drained for winter and I've given up on it. Lasted just over a year.

I Have Had Exactly The Same Experience As All Othe

I have had exactly the same experience as all other reviewers. The starter recoil mechanism has broken countless times on my performance pro PWRSP460PRMA, now not repairable.

B&Q will not stand behind a product by offering spares for a machine only 2 years old.

B&Q's customer helpline is absolutely useless and the mower will have to be scrapped simply because of failure of one part.

The Recoil On My Performance Pro Pwrsp460prma Star

The Recoil on my Performance Pro PWRSP460PRMA started breaking in the first year. Repaired it myself a number of times but now it is completely knackered. Having a major problem getting parts.

I Bought This Performance Pro Pwrsp460prma Last Ma

I bought this Performance Pro PWRSP460PRMA last march within two months the recoil starter broke B&Q refused to fix as they said it was a sale item and there was no warranty. I got it fixed myself as I could not listen to B&Q any longer. This year again the recoil has broken the self stop has broken and it revs up over the limit, now the belt has slipped off. Went back to B&Q and they will not replace as I don't have a receipt. Looking for receipt now and if i don't find it B&Q will have their mower back as I will simply leave it at their returns desk!

Cord Pull Has Broke Several Times On This Performa

Cord pull has broke several times on this Performance Pro PWRSP460PRMA. Only had it 1 year and I should have taken it back after first problem. Spare parts not readily available. Disappointing for cost of middle of road petrol mower. Not recommended to anyone.

The First Mower Of This Performance Pro Type I Had

The first mower of this Performance Pro type I had was faulty from day one - the starter cord would not retract and therefore the motor would not start at all. Having received a replacement from B&Q (under warranty), it seemed to work fine for the first year, although one of the front wheels is almost falling off. First attempt for year two has come to a halt as the original problem of the starter cord and motor mechanism spring not working. As this is not a well-known make, I am struggling to find any spares or anyone who can fix it. I will inevitably have to buy a new mower, even though this one is only two years old.

I found this review helpful because...it summarised exactly the same issues I had with my mower!

I have had this a wee while but now has developed a leaky fuel tank. Where can I get a replacement tank? I do not have a receipt.
