Performance Pro 1600HMA

I find this Performance Pro 1600HMA very good value for money. It reminds me of a Flymo and blades and general spares are readily available on the internet.

Generally you get what you pay for - looks good, performs reasonably but is a really heavy mower so is difficult to move around. I'm exhausted after finishing my front garden (but it is a large garden!).

The motor on my Performance Pro 1600HMA lawnmower overheated just out of the years warranty. It has only been used a few times on a small garden!

I have had two Performance Pro 1600HMA mowers in under a year. One overheated and stopped working and the other just stopped after just six uses. I had to take both mowers back to B&Q and they relunctantly refunded me. One was reduced to £34.99, but it was the inconvenience of returning it. The cut is not good, it is heavy to move around and shaves the edges of the grass. The grass goes everywhere, little in the box. Most of it goes on the machine parts. Noisy too. I don't recommend this at all and if two have broken down after such a short period, you would have the same trouble as me. They don't fold flat either and the grass-box is hard to close as the cogs don't align properly. You have to jiggle it to close the box. After cutting, the machine is covered in grass bits and yourself, I may add. So once again at the bank holiday I am without a mower. I just don't know which one to buy. Why can't they make them like they used to? Planned abosolence and the awkward journey there and back to B&Q parking trolley, back unload, assemble, to find the thing packs up after a few cuts!!!

Performance Pro 1600HMA - I bought this lawnmower from B&Q as it is their own brand and cheap in comparison to its rivals and with a larger motor. This lawnmower looks MEAN, the front of it looks awesome, something like a Hyundai Coupe, a budget brand with sportscar-like looks.

Originally I was a little sceptical with this newcomer into the lawnmower market, however, I had previously owned a Performance Pro drill which I thought was very good for the price. There is no point in doing any price comparisons or looking for cheaper on the web as you simply won't find it anywhere other than B&Q, and their prices are universal throughout stores.

The lawnmower has excellent grass cutting capabilities, a little on the heavy side, however it has an excellent sucking techniques which keeps sucking strong till the box is full!!

This lawnmower is an excellent piece of machinery, it also comes with a front cable tidy, and a spanner with spacers should you need to change the cutting height.

I recommend this lawnmower.
