Got about 12 months use, or about 12 grass cuts, motor is about to go up in flames as the pulley is jammed, could be a bearing problem. These Flymo Compact 3400 mowers should be removed from the market as they are a fire risk, avoid purchasing one.

Motor Went In A Puff Of Smoke After Just 20 Months
Motor went in a puff of smoke after just 20 months. Thats probably only about 20 hours use of even less. I have now seen numerous reports of similar problems, so although I thought the grass collection basket was the best available, there is no way I will go back to another flymo compact. Have replaced it with a Bosch.
