Ryobi HTK-2360MT

This was a Ryobi petrol 26cc hedge trimmer. For the £100 discount price it seemed a good buy. It started easily but the revs were so high when the clutch came in that the blade wouldnt let the hedge branches into the blade. Ive used electric trimmers on all kinds of hedges for 20 years but the only way this one would cut was to keep on and offing the throttle to get the revs down. The booklet gave no way to adjust the working speed so I tried the technical advice number and after two 10 minute waits gave up and used the email option. A week later after no reply I returned the machine to the retailer who very generously offered me two choices, a replacement trimmer or a refund. I took the refund, and the trimmer was returned to the manufacturer as faulty. A lucky escape, or perhaps I was just unlucky buying a duff one, but I'd have appreciated a response from the helpline.

Generally the Ryobi HTK-2360MT did trim my hedge so in that sense it was good but on seconds thought i don't have a hedge....what the heck did i trim??

Not withstanding the above, the Ryobi HTK-2360MT hedge trimmer is a very good machine! It coped well with an overgrown Leylandi and Beech hedges. Well balanced and manageable machine.

The instructions state that you should only use the minimum throttle for the job. I am not sure about this one, but it works - it trims thin branches without the screaming revs. Does what it says on the box. I can't say more than that. I am well pleased!

It's the same old story - you get what you pay for. If you have serious hedges to cut, or if don't want the hassle with inferior equipment, buy this machine!
