Makes An Ardurous Task Easy
Been using this a few months now and it has worked out great for me but i feel this product is not worth the money they charge otherwise it easy to use and trims long hedges quite nicely. The only reason I recommend it is that the other ones I have tried over the years have fallen further short of my expectations.
Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Have had mine for approx 15 years never let me down just burnt the gears, cut
through wire, buried in hedge (not the first time) for the past ten years I have been cutting 2 privet hedges 40ft x 4ft 30ft x 6ft plus a laurel hedge 40ft x 8ft if I hadn't been careless I might have had it for another 15 years - any one know where I can get a new one?
Very Good
I have owned these trimmers for seven years with no probs until recentley they cut so much hedge done so much work and cut through very thick branches with little effort but as i said until recentley the motor burnt out on a conifer hedge i think it was my fault expecting to much out of them so dont take any notice of other posters i would recomend them.

My Black & Decker Gt524 520w Electric Hedge Trimme
My Black & Decker GT524 520w Electric Hedge Trimmer has a good reach, which in my case was the reason for purchase. However, it is poor overall. Blade sharpness means it's almost useless now (about 18months after buying), to puny for my hawthorn hedge really, once blunted a bit.

The Black & Decker Gt524 Is Good For Longer Hedges
The Black & Decker GT524 is good for longer hedges. Needs a cable 'break' near the trimmer as in previous B&D models. If you cut the mains cable near the trimmer, you need to dismantle the whole trimmer to change the cable. Better to buy a proper weatherproofcable 'break' and insert it near the trimmer if this happens then. Mine has stopped working after I dismantled it.
I Agree With Andrew Price! The Black & Decker Gt52
I agree with Andrew Price! The Black & Decker GT524 520w Electric Hedge Trimmer is the worst trimmer I've ever used.
I found this review very helpful because its true. The product cost 60+ pounds but broke down after three uses. If only I had listend to him,.

I've Been Using My B&d Gt524 Hedgetrimmer For Over
I've been using my B&D GT524 hedgetrimmer for over 3 years and all it's cost me in maintenance is £8.50 this year for new brushes for the motor. It does a great job - powerful, low vibration, very useful design with the dual-position handle goving extra reach. I have not had problems with jamming as described in an earlier review.

I Bought The Black & Decker Gt524 520w Electric He
I bought the Black & Decker GT524 520w electric hedge trimmer because I needed something powerful, that was able to cut through thick branches and could be used on a variety of hedges.
I have not been disappointed with my purchase.
This hedge trimmer is able to cut through branches nearly an inch thick, and it was very useful in trimming back severely overgrown hedges, including conifer, privet and box.
The extending handle is very useful for reaching tall or wide hedges.
I have had none of the jamming issues experienced by the previous reviewer, and overall I am very happy with my purchase.
gunnag.....if you can cut wood that's nearly an inch thick you'd better watch your fingers!!
Q&A
How do you test the motor of the Black and Decker GT524 hedge trimmer for a fault?
