236
Excellent little saw. Mine starts first time every time from hot or cold and use it weekly for logging firewood and for felling a large tree last week although the bar was a bit small for that. Compared to my mates mccullough which was very plasticy with a horrible hard to seal fuel cap this is an excellent saw with my local dealer being really helpful even though I bought it elsewhere.

236 Husky, Cheap ? Yes. Husky Quality? No.v
I bought this saw at an ag.show and it appeared well made as my previous old ,larger models. However, it just doesn't run right.. I couldn't get; t to run on numerous occasions.Took it the dealer.'youve flooded it' as in your a fool. Well I hadn't ,and I had the plug out to prove it. But it fired up, magic! Trick is it never needs the choke. Well to me that says the mixture is rich ........ and that's what it runs like, like it got a head cold , it won't rev. I hear you say adjust the Carb. Bingo. You can't! What is the story with the adjusting screws? A dealer only job? Well get some more helpful dealers. Wake up because once the Chinese get there quality control sorted you boys are doomed.
Give Yourself A Day To Get It Started
Tried to start the brand new Husqvarna chainsaw today with much anticipation, having used a cheapie Ryobi for the last couple of years and decided it was time to move up. Sadly, after half an hour or so of trying there was not a thing from the motor - not a pop, not a murmur. (Yes I am aware of how to start the thing). So I am returning it to the store tomorrow. A lot of people rave about Husqvana, but speaking as I find it, it is useless (literally) - at least the Bunnings Ryobi started!! I guess there must be some kind of quality control at the factory but for the thing not to start when brand new - well, it makes you wonder.

Not For Idiots
Husq are no better or worse than any other brand and no brand is idiot proof either.
Ive got three husky chainsaws
A 268 for heavy trunking work,a 136 for elevated work and trimming and a 346 as an allrounder I take on unknown jobs.
The 268 is decades old and I can get still spares next day for it from a network of dealers.
Never had problems with any of them.
Spares can be a problem if you buy a cheap brand saw from discount ads or garden DIY centres so I would stick to a small saw from a reputable manufacturer like Husqvarna ,Stihl or Jonsered.
Always RTFM!!
Buy A Stihl Instead
I bought a 236 e which I now regret, it all goes wrong from the start, as soon as you go to put your foot in the handle to start it on the ground as you should to start it safely you will find your foot won't fit at all unless you haven't got a boot and I wouldn't recommend going barefoot when using a chainsaw.
I found the saw hard to start and even harder to get it to idle as it stopped as soon as you put it down to move a branch or clear your work area, on restarting it was harder to keep it going and it kept cutting out.it was a really frustrating
It cut well when it did run though I found you had to rev it to much for what it was doing which just light trimming of branches no thicker than your arm.
I only used this saw for two hours max and hadn't gone through the second tank of fuel and I decided to leave it and take it back to the dealer on the Monday And then found out the two year warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on as when they couldn't get it to work either they pulled it down and then wanted $480 to fix a saw that cost $250 as Husqvarna wouldn't fix it as they said it had the wrong fuel in it which it didn't, this compares with other reviews I have now read. I have owned a Stihl and a Mccullouch in the past and worked them both hard with never a problem, I'd gone into the store to get a Stihl but they didn't sell them and had changed over to husky which they insisted were a better saw, I am off this morning to buy a Stihl which I should have done straight up as now I've got a box of husky parts laying in my shed as the dealer and Husqvarna don't want to stand by their warranty which also from reading other reviews rings true.
Thanks for your point of view, if you had followed my words correctly you would have noted I did give the saw as much persistence as I could have, when I purchased it the store put the fuel in it and got it redy for use, it just didn't go well straight up so I took it back to get it sorted, the thing was a dud and now is a box of parts , your a professional and maybe could have tweaked it yourself and its a name brand and how much it was is not the point as it was for home use, now as for slating it on a global website you just did that as well in respect to stihl which I think is a much better product, you don't work for husky do you ? Cherrs
Not all saws have to be started with your foot in them, if it is too small which the 236 is then you have to kneel on it. It is the cheapest saw in the Husqvarna range, it probably needed adjusting to get the tick ove right which is what needs to be done when setting up a new saw.
The saw is basically for logging firewood up by the homeowner, we run one with our tree surgery team as a snedding saw and find it great, I think a little persistance before slating it on a global website.
Good luck with the Stihl.... problem number 2 coming up..

Husqvarna 236 Chainsaw
A good chainsaw to start with until it breaks then breaks again in the last six months it has been fixed twice under warranty. But I bought the chainsaw because of there reputation then I find out they also own McCulloch! The chainsaw has now broken again with the same problem as the last two times ! Cheap parts is all I can say !!!

Husqvarna Makes Very Good Chainsaws. They Are Well
Husqvarna makes very good chainsaws. They are well made and hold up well. That being said Husqvarna Corp. as a whole is horrid. If you ever have a problem with you saw it is very hard to get them to do warranty work or even help you via their company contact link. If you are lucky enough to get a reply from them it will more than likely read something along the lines of. We do not handle this and you need to contact your local dealer. When you contact your local dealer they tell you, you have to contact Husqvarna Corp.
So over all they make very good products but their customer service is lousy and is not only unwilling to help but can be down right rude.
