Blown Away!

Our brand new, three week's since built, greenhouse is now a tangled mess after this week's weather. That's a lot of money for no tomatoes. Buy a more solid construction!

Teach me to buy cheap stuff.

Palram Palram Bal Aluminium Frame Greenhouse 8' X 12' Silver

I purchased this from Primrose in February after unpacking this Icontacted the company to complain about the very flimsy components, they assured me that they had sold hundreds and had no complaints,so against my better judgement we erected it.FLIMSY was the wrong term the actual design is so poor and the components are so flimsy we may as well have built one out of old plastic bags!! I immediately complained to Primrose (they make an on line customer promise that for any reason within 60 days you have tried a product you can return it for a full refund !!

SOUNDS GOOD but in reality they are just printing anything to sell a very poor product, they said as the product had been used AND WAS PUT IN A GARDEN THAT WAS WINDY!!!! they could not help, the end result is we have no greenhouse it disintegrated. and their on line distance selling promise is just a pack of lies.I do have a copy of every e mail I have sent them so can back this up

Ordered One From B&q Two Years Ago And Found It Ve

Ordered one from B&Q two years ago and found it very easy to assemble. Was somewhat surprised by how thin the polycarbonate glazing actually was but it has turned out to be very durable, especially given the fact we live behind a football pitch. The only real problem I encountered when assembling the greenhouse was that the polycarbonate windows would not fit at first, however, I found that loosening all of the bolts holding it together, then fitting the windows allowed you to perfectly square the frame up before re-tightening the nuts and bolts.

The glazing does get quite grotty after a season however, but a quick wash with Jeyes Fluid soon cleans things up. One thing I would recommend though is an auto-vent. You can get the purpose built Palram auto-vent from B&Q now though, but I found that the fixing screws weren't long enough and the instructions were sketchy at best. The previous auto-vent though was even harder to fit onto the non-standard window frame.

I Purchased This Greenhouse From Gardenbuildingsdi

I purchased this greenhouse from gardenbuildingsdirect. The aluminium frame is quite good and not diffiuclt to put together, but it is not fit for purpose because of the polycarb glazing. The polycarb glazing is very flimsy, the pieces don't fit into the greenhouse well, the clipping system does not work properly so they blow out, fall out. I have written a poor review on the suppliers site which has not been published which is a salutory lesson in reading reviews. I have written three times to complain and had no response at all. My advice if you are thinking of buying a polycarb greenhouse is DO NOT. I wish I had known and I would have gone for glass even though we know that we would lose some from time to time in a very windy position. We are currently trying to glue and use strips to fix the glazing. What a nightmare! LW from Eastbourne
