Elite Classique Greenhouse Review

ELITE CLASSIQUE GREENHOUSE REVIEW

Hi all..Thought i would write a review on this product(Elite classique ) as before buying it i could find any on the internet.i ordered a 30 x 12 complete with white powder coat .It came in two large crates ..one glass and the other bars ect..it was well packaged.

The instruction is old and dated 2005 and was very tech to read(you would want to be an engineer).4 of us took numerous weeks to assemble once every week on a saturday or sunday.one was an engineer second was a manager in a high volume factory and third was a builder and myself tea and biscuit supplier.

We made a concrete base with a block on the flat all round 30 feet x 12 feet.We then stood the upright bar on top of this to see how high it would eventually be for head room.We decided to put another row on edge on top of the flats to rise it more which in my openion was much better ..thinking back.i cant stress how difficult it is putting it together..forget it if there is only 2 of you to do it.

Having a block on flat and one on edge on top means we had a step going into the greenhouse which i did not mind as it can help to keep out water from outside.Mine was polycarbonate and because the book was so difficult to read (three different types of greenhouse in one book..ie safety glass ,horticulture glass and polycarbonate sheeting we inserted rubber into all the uprights on the whole greenhouse including roof to find out that on polycarbonate you do not insert the rubber.of course you would think taking out the rubber was easy ...it took a whole day putting in and taking out.

although it does not say it when putting on the polycarbonate sheeting especially the roof ..use waterproof silacone to seal the sheets under the ridge(very important as we didnt and once erected rain poured in (as it does).Everything had to come back down and be sealed with silacone.

After doing this water was still getting in at the window vents so i got on the phone to elite who kindly said that they would send me on rubber for over the windows along with 5 x 6 feet bars .basically the 5 bars had grooves on them and the rubber slid down the grooves .it then needed to be positioned ontop of the ridge with the rubber covering the roof vents to keep out the rain.(what a job getting up onto the ridge as all the roof had been completed .)anyhow i dont know why they didnt send it in the crate as its clearly needed to keep the rain out.

To sum it up now its completed.im very happy with my greenhouse.Dont expect it up in a weekend it will take longer.Elite were very good in there buisness with me and i dont have a problem with their product...only their instruction book) happy growing
