We Travelled From Nottinghamshire To Visit Baytree
We travelled from Nottinghamshire to visit Baytree Garden Centre's Winter Wonderland and Santa's Grotto, in Spalding,Lincolnshire, Dec 2010 after a friends recommendation and we are so glad we did.
We made sure we went to see Father Christmas first thing when it opened and we also went on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy; maybe a 20min wait if that. The queue time seemed to pass really quickly as there was lots to look at on your way to see him and also a little ride as well which was fun for the little ones and us! They have really put a lot of effort in to it to make it special for the little ones; for us, it was spectacular. It felt really special and i will remember our trip for a long time to come.
The present our 18mth old received was lovely and he also recieved a tiny Christmas (Fir)tree which we planted when we got home. A nice thoughtful touch. The price to see him was reasonable i thought; £5 per child, plus £2 each for us adults who went through to the Grotto with him.
They had reel reindeer on site and you can feed them too. You can buy carrots there or just take your own like we did, plenty of photo opportunities which was great and you can even buy keepsakes of your visit to see Father Christmas which was lovely and again reasonably priced.
Excellent Christmas decorations in the VAST shop, plenty to look at for children and adults alike. Overall, i can not praise this place enough, we had an excellent experience and will be returning. Well worth a visit to anyone considering!
PRO'S: Large and reasonably priced self service cafe, extensive FREE car parking, great Father christmas experience, friendly staff, fantastic shop and quality products.
CON'S: Can't think of anything!
Just to correct my review....The cost children to see Father Christmas in his grotto and receive a present & a real Christmas tree was £7 each, any accompaning adults and children pay £1 each. Apologies for my mistake! For the whole experience it was fantastic value for money!
