I Purchased This Based Upon A Very Detailed Positi

I purchased this based upon a very detailed positive review on another site. Unfortunately this product is let down in one (in my opinion) main area.

For the paltry price of just £1.50 you can have your own takeaway curry, either cook it in the microwave, or in the oven. I chose to be different and cook it in the oven (as per the review i read). 45 Mins later and there was indeed a fantastic smell wafting around the house and i was hungry ! Out it came and then with a quick stir and a quick make of some pilau rice to go with it i sat down to enjoy. A taste of the sauce brought a nice kick to it. There are sufficient chillies in here to have us getting tissues ready to blow our noses (which is always a good thing right?). It's a tasty sauce as well, with all the spices and onions bringing a nice rich flavour to it.

The big let down was the meat. Now i may be considered by some as a picky eater when it comes to meat. I don't like fat or gristle and like meat to be tender. And this is where it went wrong here...

TUBES... thats right, cubes of beef with a great veiny white tube sticking out. and not just on one either. They were present on at least three pieces of meat that i checked, and i eventually weeded out all of the meat and just ate the sauce with rice. My son had one as well and it was the same.

So that concludes it. To summarise, this could have been a much more pleasant experience. A fantastically tasty sauce with plenty of heat to it, coupled with a price tag of just £1.50. It's just a shame that the meat let it down.

I also bought 2 of their Chicken Bhuna's at the time, so i might be trying one of those today. I'll post the review here.

In the meantime, if you want a Madras, get yourself to your local takeaway, or make your own ;)
