The Price Of A Sainsbury's Christmas Hamper To The
The price of a Sainsbury's Christmas Hamper to the amount in the box was/is extortionate in my opinion. I know the goods in there are nice and I loved having them, but for that price is won;t be a re-occuring thing for me, no way!

In November I Ordered A Hamper For Delivery On 17
In November I ordered a hamper for delivery on 17 Dec. By 23 Dec no hamper had arrived. I complained via the web site, but the resultant email bounced. I waited for someone on the phone and was told it had been delivered. But it had not. It finally arrived on 27 Dec. I had no reply by email, and one voice message. This is Sainsburys? Lame. My wife tells me I should have used Waitrose.
I Would Never Use Sainsburys Again. We Ordered It
I would never use Sainsburys again. We ordered it from Ireland for an address in London for my brother and mother (as she was going to be staying Christmas there due to my dad's recent death). After numerous calls, being on hold for hours, costing a fortune in international call costs we eventually got through to the customer service. Apparently the hamper was out in a van, driven by a courier company. No, they couldn't get in touch with the van. So they were to deliver the next day. No sign of the van OR the call to my brother as promised to try to arrange delivery at his home. At this point he had stayed put two days in a row. The next day was Sunday - nothing doing. Then, Christmas Eve we were told it would be delivered on Christmas Day. Christmas Day came round - no delivery. Not even the good manners to call and apologise. I e-mailed Sainsbury's customer service and gave the order details when it hadn't arrived the first time but got a reply saying I'd hear back in 2 working days. Well every day up to Christmas Eve is a working day and I never heard back. Also I really don't appreciate people who tell you on the phone that they will get something delivered or call you back but then just don't bother. It is frustrating.
I found this review very helpful because it reflects real frustration and disappointment over shockingly poor service.

Extremely Bad Customer Service, No One Knew Where
Extremely bad customer service, no one knew where my order was, and they took no responsibility for their incompetence.
It took 25 minutes to even get through on the customer service line. After the first phone call, I was promised that they would find someone who could track my order and give me a call back. An hour later I still had no phone call, so once again i had to call the customer help line. The next person I talked to was very arrogant and told me it was unlikely I would get a call back today and seemed reluctant to help me. I asked to be put through to a supervisor, who said he was only just starting to track the order, as he had only just received word of the first call I had made (over an hour ago).
Not only did I waste my time waiting in all day for the delivery, I wasted 40mins on the phone waiting for answers and an hour for a phone call from a member of staff. The level of service from a company such as Sainsbury's is unacceptable and down right appalling. No compensation was offered for my wasted time at this busy time of year (Christmas). When I could have used the much needed time to do the rest of my Christmas shopping.
