Light, Subtle, Modest Fragrance And Equally Unders
Light, subtle, modest fragrance and equally understated fruit taste with low acidity. This is a classic 'light' Loire Sauvignon. None of the "mouthwash" high impact of a Kiwi Sauv Blanc, nor indeed any of the floral elegance of a Pouilly Fume. But it is probably a more genuine aperitif and would be pretty good, I imagine, with simply baked white fish.
Reuilly is a small producing area granted the permission to give the area on the label. The bottle in question is a 2007 from Henri Beurdin. Not a bad example, for sure. Reuilly is on a Loire tributary further upstream from Sancerre or Pouilly, but just as interesting and at a fraction of the price. Don't expect any fanfare though, as this has subtlety driven right through its 12% body.
