Didnt Last Long

Lasted about 6 months before it started leaking loads of oil and grease. Used it twice to hack off a drip bead around bottom of a house and chisel or hammer function packed up. In for repair now but probably wont last long again. Good diy drill if you ask me not for trade or professionals.

I Am Fed Up With Hitachi Stuff, This Dh24pc3 Sds D

I am fed up with Hitachi stuff, this DH24PC3 SDS drill and some of their other bits (eg angle grinders) just aren't worth the dosh. I'm a professional craftsman, -over 40yrs in the trades, and have bought / will buy a lot of equipment for the various trades I'm involved in. On occasions I've been tempted to buy a 'lesser machine' when I needed a bit of kit quickly, and there were no dealers around who had what I _really_ wanted in stock. = Big Mistake! Why do Hitachi (and some other firms) turn out rubbish like this? How does it profit them? Overall, I try to always buy 'Pro' quality machines, and, as a general rule, **Makita** gear has never let me down. This is a well-known fact in the UK building trades. If you're in doubt about buying some gear, pick up a Makita... like as not, you won't then be putting it in the bin in a few weeks! :( {{ and no, I don't for 'em! }} :-p

This Hitachi Dh24pc3 Sds Drill Is Complete Bilge H

this Hitachi DH24PC3 sds drill is complete bilge had it for 3 months and its busted a 2nd time . first time i noticed bits getting difficult to remove from the sds chuck, then while drilling it decided to deposit what looked like a pint of grease out of the vents, over me and over an unpainted bespoke kitchen [even hit a wall 12ft away] took it back for repair under warranty, got it back next day. drilled 2 x 6mm holes 2 days ago. used it today and the sds chuck managed to snap a hilti drill bit then jam on the 2nd drill bit. am totally gutted i had a less powerful bosch which i had for 6 yrs and only replacd because i dropped it and cracked the casing [off a scaffold] long live bosch no freaky designs they just build tools that work!

The Hitachi Dh24pc3 Sds Drill Looks A Bit Like A T

The Hitachi DH24PC3 SDS Drill looks a bit like a training shoe designer has been let loose on this, but it is a businesslike drill all the same!

I had problems with the first one which was replaced, but this may have been due to a faulty (loose) SDS chisel bit. The replacement has been excellent so far. Cuts chases well with hammer impact setting - not as good as a Bosch equivalent which I tried, but this one was on offer, so I think is fair value for the money I paid (under £150).
