I think bosch have a great reputation and deservedly so. This drill in my experience is a decent piece of kit. Nothing amazing to look at but robust, strong, powerful and has a good quality feel. You know what you are getting when you buy a bosch and although they can be a little pricey by comparison, Ive rarely been disappointed with their gear.

As a general purpose Drill this is brilliant, sub £100 with great battery life.

To be honest have used it mostly as a screwdriver, but after nearly 6 months in the garage still ahd enough power in to put up two shelves (8 screws).

guaranteed for 3 years motor burnt out after 14 months, said it was wear and tear so no free repair, back to 5 year old dewalt

This is truely a great drill from Bosoch. I have used and abused this cordless drill for over a year now, and I am still very much happy with it. I decided to buy this drill after my old one got faulty, and so far, this Bosch cordless drill has been more than a worthy replacement. I will happily recommend this drill to everyone, considering the price and quality work that it does.

Bosch GSB14.4 VE-2 : Fantastic cordless drill with more than enough power for any job you want to tackle.

I've used it without any problems for drilling, screwdriving & hammer drilling - although use of the hammer options does drain the battery significantly faster.

I've got the 3.0AHr batteries with mine (rather than more typical 2.6AH) & the battery life is great (many hours in use & many weeks when not used)

It is slightly heavy compared to some, but a compromise worth paying for the battery life, power & durability (My last Bosch GSB12VE2 cordless drill lasted 10 yrs without any problems & with the same 2 batteries - it was only replaced because it was stolen !)

The NiMH batteries are much much better than NiCADs - because they retain there charge very well when not in use & have a good overall life (see previous comment about 10yrs life with previous drill)

Only critiscm is the price - but for a 10 yr life min still good
